- After the bloodbath at @washingtonpost.com, US journalism jobs looking even bleaker than I thought possible. Any other countries like Denmark looking to sponsor an American journalist's visa? Asking on behalf of a fellow laid off journalist who has news to report and no outlet to publish it.
- DOE has cut billions in committed loans and conditional commitments but won't disclose which projects are actually impacted. THIS is why I'm asking for those projects/companies to speak with me and provide the transparency Americans deserve www.utilitydive.com/news/the-wee...
- Would love to hear from any climate tech company/project/startup about the state of their government loan. Do you have access to it? Still waiting? DM me or reach out via Signal @leahgarden.86
- THIS @mbredsdorff.bsky.social. Reporting on climate tech in an upbeat tone can be SO MISLEADING when you have only so many words and no space for full context, like who's funding the climate tech and why? *cough it's often fossil fuel corps cough* reutersinstitute.politics.ox.ac.uk/climate-tech...

- Pitch call!!! This is an incredible opportunity for an indigenous climate reporters or storytellers to get their voices heard!! Deadline is January 15, so get on it! #freelanceopportunity #climatejournalists
- As a writer, I’m conditioned to look for themes and deeper meanings in articles and books. But god damn. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has enough deeper meaning and incredible story telling in its 2 hour run than most novels put together. Tempted to switch into movie analysis full time!
- #energysky! I need your help! I'm looking to speak to HVAC installers and utility professionals in Long Island. From the passage of the IRA, to the cut back of many of the IRA clean energy tax credits in the OBBB, what is the narrative from the industry? How is it impacting them day-to-day? 🙏
- EUROPE. DO BETTER. The US needs you to be leading the charge in corporate accountability. California's SB253 and 261 can only do so much on their own. euobserver.com/green-econom...
- Here’s some hope to help us process this news: I’m helping kids prep speeches advocating for climate policy, immigration reform, equal pay and gender equity, and increased access to mental health services. The oldest of the bunch are 13. www.cnn.com/2025/11/06/b...
- THE DREAM #energysky
- Cool cool cool cool..... www.linkedin.com/news/story/w...
- Social media is ADHD realized. Because I want to post obscure facts about my favorite US president (Ulysses S. Grant) and then follow that with a post about how we're actually testing to see if we can nuke huge incoming meteors so we dont go the way of the dinosaurs! And then send TikToks of dogs.
- THIS. @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's win is so influential that readers globally want to understand how the Mayor-Elect will confront the climate crisis. So I summed up his official climate campaign promises for Italian outlet @renewablematter.bsky.social www.renewablematter.eu/en/new-york-...
- So Trump is withholding SNAP benefits from his constituents and allowing them to starve during a Congressionally-triggered government shutdown, instead of swooping in as the savior to feed his peasants... I mean people? PR win and doing his job? Too good for reality. thehill.com/homenews/adm...
- I'm so done with Meta. Some low-life hacks my account that I've had for over a decade and now I'm just now allowed into it ever again? Meta doesn't care, since they have NO customer service. WHEN are we getting updated anti-monopoly laws?
- THIS. 100%. ESPECIALLY VERY MAINSTREAM LEADERS IN THE MARKETPLACE WITH PODCASTS...
- In response to Puerto Rican American citizen Bad Bunny leading the Superbowl halftime show Corey Lewandowski complained that Bad Bunny "hates America," then vaguely threatened to have ICE at the Superbowl. To quote the iconic Abed Nadir, this is the darkest timeline. www.avclub.com/bad-bunny-tr...
- Dear every company hiring for new employees, If we already attached a meticulously curated resume in pdf form for you, don't make us then retype (and generally correct) the autofill work experience section immediately afterwards. We won't waste your time if you don't waste ours!!
- Next the Dept. of Justice is going to ban the words "Jeffery" and "Epstein"...how is our Congress okay with this?? www.politico.com/news/2025/09...
- Sometimes it’s overwhelming thinking about the United State’s potential, and how it’s being squandered. I’m sure this present government isn’t the dream my grandparents fought tooth and nail to get to from the holocaust.
- #energysky Don't neglect local elections!! They make or break climate policy!
- Is anyone else disappointed by @ramtrucks.bsky.social newest ad saying “Americans just can’t help being American” but think AMURICA. Is this the new bare minimum normal for US markets? Nationalism disguised as American-made? TLDR some Dodge Ram manufacturers are in Mexico youtu.be/u1KC9ssyNUk?...
- My latest with Heated! Regardless of your thoughts on TikTok, its clearly an effective place for climate and environmental advocacy. More people care about conservation and are against expensive and unnecessary oil drilling than ever, even if its not covered on mainstream media.
- Only the truly guilty move to defund the free press. When you’re hiding from @npr.org you KNOW it’s a bad look. www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8hsRVTt/
- Last night's @ypedc.bsky.social Expert Session with @jigarshahdc.bsky.social, the former Director of the DOE's LPO, was great! He sat down with 30 young energy professionals and had a frank and productive dialogue. Thank you Jigar our amazing young professionals for showing up and doing the work.
- Can 2025 be the year we all just finally agree that read-receipts were maliciously created so passive aggressive/weak people can send you a message without any of the burden of communicating like a person?
- Quick Q for all of my experienced journalism peers: So as a newly laid off journalist, what's the first thing I should do? Drink a lot? Ponder the potential of a book? Drink while pondering? Let me know, just want to make sure I'm handling this correctly!
- 🧵 (1/4)This is my last day at Trellis. Media was never the most secure professional path to choose, but I continue to believe with full confidence that journalism's role in a functional democracy is resolute, and I will not let one bump in the road derail my mission. I'm not going anywhere.
- I am excited to share that @jigarshahdc.bsky.social will be sitting down with the Young Professionals in Energy DC on 7/10 for one of our signature events—an Expert Session—to answer professional development & energy sector queries! Learn more and register here ➡️ lu.ma/zn8l2ayu
- Well, you're not a real journalist until you've been laid off once or twice! I'm officially leaving Trellis and am open to any leads/connections/well wishes that my @bsky.app community can share. My drive to make climate policy transparent and incorruptible continues #climatejournalistssky

- "Ulysses S. Grant is attempting to choreograph Whitney Houston's afterlife concert with the same strategy he used to conquer Vicksburg. Whitney is not having it." Today was rough and somehow led to my sending this text.
- Sooooo what are other DC people doing instead of attending a military parade that shuts down half of the city against the majority of the city’s will??
- U.S. clean energy prod. and storage is about to have a dark period. But @jigarshahdc.bsky.social, ex- Director of DOE's LPO, says that regardless of agenda, clean energy is the U.S.'s future. Now Congress decides whether clean energy will be expensive or affordable. trellis.net/article/whyj...
- The House's version of the reconciliation bill will give companies taking advantage of clean energy manufacturing and investments credits 45Y and 48E all of 60 days post-signing to break ground. Here's hoping the Senate sees the economic calamity that is... www.utilitydive.com/news/inflati...
- So can @bsky.app do its thing and help connect this climate policy journalist to a source regarding EU CSRD legislation and Scope 3 timelines? Ya know, a very broad and common topic. #greensky #energysky
- 31 legal scholars are warning industries that the EU Omnibus proposal opens companies up to risk of litigation. Feels like a huge waste of money, given the whole point of the Omnibus package was to unburden the fiscal lift tied to corporate sustainability disclosures. trellis.net/article/eus-...

- This EPA budget hearing is a great example of rewriting narratives. If someone says something loud enough and often enough, it starts to become the truth, regardless of the documented evidence to the contrary. Businesses against IRA energy credits are shooting their ROI in the foot.
- @trellisgroup.bsky.social conducted a survey asking readers how cutting IRA credits from the #reconciliation bill will affect them, and 85% responded the impact would be negative. This follows a late night Sunday vote that pushed forward this harmful budget proposal. trellis.net/article/trel...
- PSA! Tuesday, 4/29, I'm moderating a panel on the current state of climate media for DC Climate week with an incredible lineup for the panel: @emorwee.bsky.social from Heated, @saraschonhardt.bsky.social from @politico.com's E&E News, and @bloomberg.com's Jennifer Hijazi! lu.ma/ky7woln7
- The IRA and its clean energy credits is more in danger than ever. The only way to save any of them is for businesses to call their representatives to tell them how much they rely upon these credits to operate! I mean, when better then on Earth Day of all days?? trellis.net/article/thes...
- Because who wants positive relationships with our allies that also help stabilize grids and clean energy supply chains?! Tariffs are going to solve all the problems, so sit down, shut up, and nod. trellis.net/article/trum...
