- Reposted by Dr. Will GreenIn 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivalent of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.
- Reposted by Dr. Will GreenLoving this blazon for the Ghost of Lucrece by Thomas Middleton. "death that shrimpe of spirits" 🦐 , "Her haire which in Arachnes finest loome, / Was kist with siluer shickles [shuttles?]" 🕷️"Her eies the curious fabricke of her world" 🌍
- Mate, it's been like a year! Don't disappear forever and then reappear on my route today with no explanation. Where have you been? 😭
- Reposted by Dr. Will GreenDon't yell at librarians when they cannot provide you with materials LLMs told you existed but don't exist. Come on folks.
- drwillgreen.co.uk 🙂 I've had a varied year in 2025 so I'm now rolling out my independent research and heritage consultancy site. If you have any teaching or speaking needs, whether in an academic or museums setting, I may be your guy: get in touch at WDGreen.Research@gmail.com 🙂 (Please share!)
- Turns out the Stratford Observer also ran a piece on the new interpretation 😍 stratfordobserver.co.uk/news/all-the...
- Every so often I still think how weird it was that in my last redundancy process HR sent me a questionnaire that included asking me what job I was moving to, with the note that "Unknown is not an allowed answer" 🙃

- This piece by @freeburian.bsky.social is the first article from the forthcoming special issue on Shakespeare and Middleton, which I am guest editing. So pleased to see it live 🙂
- Having to get past drunken far right protesters tonight in Solihull just to get home after work. Cue "how do you know they're far right? 🤬" Mate, no one else goes out in torrential rain and hangs England flags on the church.
- Heron right outside the patio 😳
- Further adventures in freelance life: I've been asked to review this for History Today 😄

- Hey it's me 👇
- Most constant worry when translating my teaching/presentation style into public talks... especially when its half term and kids are present? My brain's constant commentary of "don't swear, don't swear"...
- But surely this means that with the savings they'll make from not employing humans, they'll be able to pass those on to customers by doing away with the admin fee for cancelling tickets, or offer us discounts on the tickets themselves right? .... right!?
- Time for a press release! Read a little about the launch of my new heritage exhibition here 😀 www.nottingham.ac.uk/news/exhibit...
- I'm in the November issue of History Today, with a piece inspired by the work I did for my recent AHRC postdoc and ongoing museum curation work 🙂

- Currently working with my old uni's press office on my first ever press release.

- As much as I dislike Starmer - and I do - I love the fact that if Musk actually understood facts and figures he'd probably cry himself to sleep at night over the fact that Starmer's net favourability is still higher than his own.
- Bye bye Elon. I'm not even going to support this manipulative bullshit by leaving my dormant account on your fascistic platform. It's time for as many right minded people as possible to stop helping to line this idiot's cavernous pockets.
- Reminding everyone that Robert Hardy published scholarly works on the English longbow. And now every celebrity is pumping out children's books. A handful are flooding the market with murder mysteries.
- Couldn't resist spending a bit of my holiday on the trail of more travelling players - this time at Boston Guildhall in Lincolnshire.
- Off the back of this, I also now have a mini profile up on Manchester Met's Break with Rome Anniversaries Group page. I'm available to heritage/education talks for museums, groups, schools, and universities, plus musum consultancy. Feel free to get in touch 😄 mcphh.wordpress.com/break-with-r...
- This is a momentous Friday - it's up and running! 😄 The fruits of my 2024-5 Nottingham postdoc, transforming an underused space at Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall. (The only permanent exhibition on early modern drama beyond Shakespeare, within an authentic early modern performance space.)
- I'm currently seeking peer reviewers for a journal special issue I am currently guest editing on the theme of Shakespeare and Thomas Middleton. If you would be interested, please do get in touch 🙂 My DMs are open, or I can be emailed at William.D.Green@Warwick.ac.uk.
- In June, I gave a lecture for the Hall's Croft Club. It was great to engage with the local community. I am open to further speaking opportunities (societies, museums, schools etc) and have several projects I'd love to share. If you know of any opportunities or want to speak directly, do message 🙂
- My exhibition is indeed complete and ready to go live at the guildhall of Stratford-upon-Avon - I can't wait to see it in place 😭

- I'm not quite sure what I plan to do with it yet, but ahead of my new exhibition fully opening at Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall later in the year, I've set up a BlueSky for the Travelling Players Project! Check out @travellingplayers.bsky.social for what I hope will be some exciting updates 🙂
- Been asked to review a couple of books lately, both of which arrived today. Well, that's August's reading list sorted.
- Portrait of a man about to lead a session at Nottingham's distance learning summer school.
- Tomorrow, I'm leading a workshop for the University of Nottingham's English summer school for distance learners 😀
- Next week (Thurs) I'll be presenting at SRS 2025 in Bristol, sharing some work from my recent postdoc and my plans (hopes?) for further work in this field 🙂 I'm so grateful to be receiving funding from the British Academy's Early Career Researcher Network to cover the cost of attending. Can't wait!
