- “We can do a lot of guesswork as to the motivations behind [the legislation], but the reality is we need to protect our water resources. We need to protect the wildlife, and we need to protect the land for the betterment of the citizens of this country.” -Will Fett, Executive Director, Bark
- ACTION ALERT! Call your senators and tell them to oppose H.R. 655 to protect Mt. Hood and public lands! Use the script in this post. Oregonians, call Senator Wyden at (202) 224-5244.
- We're excited to announce Bark's new Executive Director, Will Fett! Save the date for our Executive Director Meet & Greet on February 18th, 4:30-6:30pm. Location TBA. Everyone is welcome! bark-out.org/about/board-...
- 📣Action Alert! 📣 Call Senator Wyden at (202) 224-5244 and tell him to OPPOSE THIS BILL.
- For Bark, this is more than just a story about threats to fish and wildlife, though these are important. As Bark's Forest Watch Program Manager, Jordan Latter, puts it, "This is a story about power and influence over water, a human right that is foundational to the well being of all people."
- Despite the city’s claims that Google played no role in this bill, Google’s data centers are increasing pressure on the city’s water supply. And despite Bentz's claim that he consulted with the Forest Service, Mt. Hood staff were not aware of the bill before Bark brought it to their attention.
- ICYMI, yesterday @opb published a deep dive on a bill proposed by OR Rep. Cliff Bentz that would transfer 150 acres of Mt. Hood National Forest to The Dalles. www.opb.org/article/2026...

- Here's a fact sheet from Cascadia Wild about Beaver Bill HB 3932: www.cascwild.org/wp-content/u...
- HB 3932 proposes a beaver trapping/hunting closure in waterways deemed impaired. This means that beavers would remain and be able to improve these waterways by increasing water storage, filtering contaminants and sediment, lowering stream temps, increasing biodiversity, and so much more!
