- Signs of spring! A carpet of snowdrops and some winter wolfsbane at the bottom of the garden. It’ll probably be snow or storms again next week, but this is pretty nice, while it lasts 😊 🌱

- Had much fun embellishing my questionable artistic ‘talents’ while making floor plans for #Grogmeet using lovely shrubbery from this joyful little house move loft discovery - unbelievably, from 1982 😳.
- Back to 🏴 after another brilliant #Grogmeet 😊. Had some great players (and just enough ☠️ stamp action 😂) in my #DCC funnel, played Dee Sanction, SW Age of Rebellion, WFRP and Vaesen and had a blast at all of them. Thanks to the fantastic GMs and players. Is there a better con anywhere?

- Now traditional family Christmas game of #Dune about to start. With epic pear and sherry mince pies as fuel to stave off (inevitable) disharmony when the betrayals begin 😂.

- Slightly horrified by the weird additives on the ingredients list of the usual supermarket versions, this year I made a Yule log for the first time using @nigella.bsky.social’s recipe - turned out out a bit like a Yule catapult or snake catcher 😂. But by gum it’s tasty 🪵 🎄 😊

- Mulled cider & pints of mild to ward off the dark winter after yesterday’s #DCC game in Manchester. Harley Stroh’s Blades against Death is inventive & excellent, but as deadly as the title suggests, with the party (just) surviving the Charnel Pits of Punjar (including a very near TPK). Huge fun!⚔️☠️🔥
- Couldn’t resist second breakfast at Idle Hands in Manchester, even though I’m en route to a Christmas lunch at 12.30 😂. Mince pie cheesecake (the ‘lightest’ option 😁) and their current batch filter coffee amazing as always ☕️

- Just started the Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne - already completely hooked by the propulsive writing style (reminiscent of Abercrombie) and brutal Norse inspired world - complete with #vaesen!
