This is going to sound like humblebrag, but there is legitimately a sense of satisfaction in not being a massive pain to a food service worker who made a simple mistake.
Feb 4, 2026 00:36I ordered items A and B as takeout, the place was swamped and running late so I read for the extra 5-10 minutes. I got home and discovered they gave me items A and C. (Think along the lines of breadsticks vs garlic bread). I called, reported the problem, they pulled up the order record.
The worker sounded nervous as they offered me a choice of either getting a credit on my account for item B or that I could come back and they'd remake the thing. I chose the first option, and they sounded both relieved and grateful that I wasn't being difficult.
