- Last week members of The Amulet Centre voted to elect the society’s first board of Directors, these 10 directors will lead the project and run community benefit society, now we have a board, volunteers can now get involved. Read all about our new board at buytheamulet.org.uk/volunteers
- This morning the team met with Councillors Federica Smith-Roberts and Mike Rigby, Somerset councils lead’s for culture and community, and economic regeneration, for an important project update, building tour, and future plans discussions. We look forward to continuing to work with Somerset Council.
- Our share certificates were created by our volunteers. They feature an Amulet linocut that was cut and printed by Kate Chittenden. Hilary Chittenden, designed the certificates; which were screen-printed by Stephen and Martin. The quality Somerset paper was donated by St Cuthbert’s Mill in Wells.
- Reminder to all members of the Amulet! Our first formal General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 28th January 2026 at the Amulet. Please aim to arrive by 6:45pm for the meeting which will start promptly at 7pm. Thank you once again to each and every one of our 300+ members for your support.
- Last night the team presented to The Shepton Mallet Area History Society, this showed a timeline of the Amulet being built and a number of never before seen photos that we have recovered since the start of the project, a number of them can now be found on our website: buytheamulet.org.uk/history
- On 6th December 2025 one day after The Amulet’s 50th Birthday our 300+ members met at St Pauls Church for our first ever meeting! This was an important thank you, project update and celebration, all members received share certificates and Babycham!

- This month is the 50th anniversary of the opening of The Amulet as ‘The Centre’ in 1975. Here’s a look at the unique moving floor that ingeniously transformed from a 270 seat theatre to a 400 capacity dance hall.
