Just your humble gardener-poet
"I dreamed a place where I have come to dwell."
On the outskirts of the Beltway: Zone 8, Maryland
- When I put up the deer fence, I made sure to leave some room 'underneath,' so the foxes (and the coyotes, etc.) could get through. Looks like it worked!
- And then the snow came, because: of course it did. So much snow! The koi ponds are frozen over. No worries, the fish will be fine. The doggos don't mind the snow, and neither do the doves. But the whole world is blanketed, and work is impossible. I swear, this will all be garden in a few months...
- A few pics from our visit to the Nitobe Memorial Garden at the University of British Columbia
- I work in the garden until our light fails. I'm out there through dusk, in wind and mist, until I can only see by the light of my hand drill. Building planting islands for the food forest, fixing the deer fence, replanting the willow row that succumbed to drought over the summer.
- Bluesky only allows four pics per post? I'm disappointed.
- Perhaps I should begin by posting a few pics of my gardens, greenhouse, ponds and dovecote. All built with my own hands and a little sweat. "I dreamed a place where I have come to dwell..."
