Chain Bear F1
That F1 video guy.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1Can we all please report this individual who is stealing the work of real artists - including friends of mine - to feed into AI. Let’s keep BlueSky free of these parasites.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1I keep seeing takes that F1 is leaving IndyCar in the dust in America, but IndyCar found a way to embarrassingly link up with an unpopular despot of a country for a street race without even leaving its home market. That's innovation! F1 has to go to other continents to do that!
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1Tried increasing the brightness and removing shadows from the photo of Aston Martin’s AMR26. Does indeed look very unique, like most of Adrian Newey’s creations.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1More sketchy goodness. 60min speed draw of Ollie Bearman testing in the rain. #speeddrawing #F1 #Procreate
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1In case you missed it; my dear friend victoria and I have a new podcast
- hello I am launching my very own podcast with @jordanjamboree.pittbert.gay where we (mostly casually!) chat about car culture in the decline of the American empire, auto racing, and industry news interspersed with tales of our former auto journo careers. we call it TRAN GIRLISMO
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1We used to call it 'machine learning' and it was super useful for analysing large batches of images in scientific, medical, and historical research. But nobody used it to generate 'new' images based on real data because that was, and still is, extremely dumb.
- Fascinated by people who think the engines sound radically different
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1Yeah the thing that immediately pissed me off about this is how IT basics are taught in libraries and are essential to modern living and have huge - like years long - queues but where’s the funding for that?
- Finding it very funny that F1 was too embarrassed to test in public but actually they are doing incredibly well and now are struggling to show off about it because no one can see it
- Last year the drivers were all complaining about the new cars in the sim, but now they're out on track they're all "it's more predictable to drive, it's powerful, we have options"

- Now we wait to hear from journalists pressed up against the wire fence at Catalunya
- McLaren with the skinny little nose, if the studio pics are the real car
- I don't mean to be a hater or anything but I personally hate the style of article that's like a pretend interview with a silly enthusiastic naif and F1.com do it all the time
- This is definitely a Me thing, not an objective assessment. It just grinds my gears as a structure style.
- People saying it sounds like AI. Yeah it does a bit – I hadn't picked up on that. Similarly I hate that faux playful tone AI assistants use despite not being real people. Uncanny and inauthentic and makes me distrustful.
- If the cars break down in early testing that's fine. Finding the kinks it's part of the process.
- The white on the Ferrari makes the HP sit better.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1lmao the Ferrari broke down
- I mean I've said this before but it's very funny-not-funny that there was so much build up and work involved in getting the 2022 regs implemented and they basically threw all of it in the bin immediately
- I still stand by that they worked really well. If they'd kept on top of pruning the dirty air influencers it would have continued to work
- I know the new aero rules only exist to make the new PU rules feasible so we couldn't have carried on the same with all this Audi flirting they were doing but nonetheless

- Hilarious how different the real Merc is from the livery launch model. Another chonker of an air box I see. Slimline hips.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1SAN ANTONIO AND TEXAS FRIENDS: On March 14th at 2pm, I'm giving a presentation on the history of women in F1 at the San Antonio Collins Garden Library (and possibly other branches)! PLEASE COME. IT'S FREE.
- F1 being nominated for a best picture Oscar is insane. Come on now.
- Sinners getting 16 nominations is absolutely correct though. What a film.
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1writing a strongly worded letter advising them to swap out F1 with 28 Years Later
- Again, feels like it's going to shift towards Formula E style racing with strategy around energy management and being in the lead at all times not necessarily the optimum way to go
- Actually quite enjoy Mercedes being "the same but with cool stripes"
- Reposted by Chain Bear F1@chainbear.bsky.social something like this?
- Maybe one day they'll revive one of the Audi quattro liveries from the 80s rally era and stick it on the F1 car
- Realising now that the beauty of the Big Joint Livery Launch is teams only got like 5 minutes to wank about. They showed us the livery, they buggered off. A beautiful thing I only now appreciate.
- Anyway, yes: Audi are using the livery they already showed us! I wonder if Mercedes will shake things up a bit or we'll end up with TWINSIIIIES
- The rear section looks... Odd without sponsors to break it up.
- The green BP logo on the Audi really fucks it doesn't it
- I love how Audi's bosses look like the dads of each driver
