- Why do you follow Animal Action Greece? What matters most to you about our work? 👇
- Neutering saves lives. It really is that simple. Every cat and dog we sterilise means fewer animals born into hunger, illness and life on the streets. Fewer fights. Fewer injuries. Fewer unwanted litters. More healthy, safe, cared-for animals.

- Jumping on the 2016 photo-throwback trend! Back when we were called Greek Animal Welfare Fund 😄 One thing hasn’t changed though, our incredible equine team, working tirelessly to support animals in need across Greece. Who remembers us from those days? 🙂 #2016throwback
- 8 more community cats on Paros are now on their way to safer, healthier lives 💚 Thanks to Paroscat, local trappers and carers, the vets, Battersea and our team working together on the ground. This is what community cat care looks like 🐾

- So proud to work alongside this amazing organisation! 💚
- Across Greece, individuals work tirelessly, often paying out of their own pockets and giving their time for animals. They rescue, feed, treat and respond when systems fall short. We see you. We stand with you. And we will keep working for lasting change.
- Behind the Paros & Antiparos Community Cat Care Project, funded by @Battersea, are the dedicated people making it happen 🐾 The aim is to reduce overpopulation and suffering through sterilisation, care, and community action. Read more 👉 www.parosandantiparoscats.org

- Today is #InternationalAnimalRightsDay We believe that every animal has the right to safety and care. Our Kindness Without Borders appeal helps us reach animals who are denied this. Our goal is £6,000 by xmas to feed & treat 1,000 animals 👉 bit.ly/kindnesswithoutborders
- This rescued horse and our trustee Anna were in absolute agreement during our recent visit to the Donkeyland Shelter. 😆💚🐴

- Animal Action Greece was honoured last night at the inaugural Heroic Hearts 2025 awards for our long-standing contribution to animal welfare in Greece and our work in raising awareness. Thank you to all who support our work. So proud! 🇬🇷💚🐾
- This month, we’re launching our winter appeal, “Kindness Without Borders” a reminder that compassion has no limits. This campaign aims to raise £6,000 by Christmas Eve, enough to feed and treat 1,000 stray animals. Can you help? buff.ly/0qt2kPa thank-you 🙏 💙
- These are the challenges we face. At a Christmas bazaar, someone altered our CNVR poster to say: “You should neuter yourselves.” Comments like this show how misunderstood humane neutering still is. CNVR isn’t cruel — it prevents suffering. We’ll keep going. For the animals.
- We’re thrilled to welcome Dina as our new Engagement & Education Lead for the Community Cat Care Project! A Paros native with a Master’s in Social Psychology and a lifelong passion for animal welfare, Dina has fostered and rescued many cats, including the one pictured 💚
- In remote areas of Greece, farriers are scarce, which means many equines go without the hoof care they need. Our Equine Outreach Programmes bring skilled farriers, treatments, and owner education to the animals who need it most. See below the difference proper trimming makes.👇
- We’ve now sterilised 5,353 cats across Paros & Antiparos since April 2023!🐾 This prevents thousands of kittens being born into suffering. Huge thanks to all partners, volunteers, and our amazing team 💛 And to Battersea for supporting this work. 👉 www.parosandantiparoscats.org/
- Our amazing partners at @greekanimalrescue.bsky.social work tirelessly to help dogs and cats find safety, care, and love, and many are now ready for adoption in the UK. One of them is Jeimson, pictured below… patiently waiting for his forever family. Find out more: greekanimalrescue.com/adopt
- Last week, our Cat Mapping Lead Eleni joined a collaborative mission in Schinoussa, and 242 cats across Schinoussa, Iraklia & Koufonisia were sterilised. Huge thanks to Save a Greek Stray, SCARS, Cats of Iraklia, Cats of Koufonisi, Travel Animal Rescue + the local municipality.

- Today, Greece celebrates #OchiDay, a reminder of courage, resilience, and standing firm for what’s right. 💪 We honour that same spirit every day through our work, standing up for animals who have no voice, and saying “Ochi” (No!) to neglect, cruelty, and suffering.
- Today is #NationalBlackCatDay, the purrfect excuse to celebrate our sleek, stunning, and oh-so-mysterious black cats! 🐈⬛ We’re sharing some of our team’s gorgeous black cats, but we want to see yours too! Drop a photo of your black cat below 👇🖤
- Our mass sterilisation outreach in Taxiarchis, North Evia starts today! 🐶🐱 Together with ARTEMIS and @greekanimalrescue.bsky.social, we’ll be in the area over the next few days, neutering as many stray and owned cats and dogs as possible to help curb the stray animal overpopulation crisis.
- Since April 2023, our Cat Project on Paros & Antiparos, funded by Battersea has been tackling the islands’ stray cat overpopulation crisis. Here is our impact so far: 🐈⬛ 5,353 neutered 📍 5,372 microchipped 💊 5,380 dewormed 💉 4,980 vaccinated www.parosandantiparoscats.org
- Glue traps are cruel and unnecessary. On Paros, this tiny kitten (named Sticky) was rescued from one — inflamed and poisoned after being trapped. Now thankfully doing better after treatment. These traps cause slow, painful deaths. Many countries have banned them — Greece should too.
- We live and breathe animals. Every day begins and ends with them on our minds, those waiting for food, care, and kindness. We’re proud of our dedicated team and grateful to every supporter, old and new, who helps us change lives for animals across Greece. 💚🇬🇷
