- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64I take a look at Rockford - The Arcade Game on the Commodore 64, a conversion of an arcade licence featuring the character from Boulder Dash, properly licenced from First Star. Was it any good or an Icon Design C64 botch job? Find out here: mastertronic.co.uk/game-review-...
- Been playing Cyberdyne Warrior. It’s cool to see graphics and sound which hint at - and were sometimes refined for - the Rowlands brothers’ next game, Creatures. ❤️
- This could actually be level 2 of Creatures!
- Bart versus the Space Mutants is tough, and the time limit stops you exploring as much as you might. Which is a shame ‘cos it’s packed with humour and Easter eggs. You can use a coin to call Moe’s Tavern, for example. ❤️
- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64I’ll be playing these old games - and the hundreds of new ones - forever, I think. At 47 it’s probably never going to leave me (or the thousands of others that make this beautiful new machine possible).
- This happened to my micro switch joystick for TheC64…anything worth doing to save it? It hasn’t snapped, just detached. Still works but keeps falling off.
- Only took about 35 years 😂😂 Absolutely in bits that the final boss, the fabled Shadow of the Beast, is a toenail 💀
- 💅
- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64Really lovely piece with Sean. Some days I just can't believe it's been 35 years. At times I can even still clearly remember the smell of the magazine and the excitement of reading a new issue... ..and then getting up from my desk chair, I suddenly groan. So yeah, it probably has been 35 years 😆
- ❤️ It’s now 35 years since issue 1 of CF went on sale 😱 👌🏻 In one of our personal favourite pieces from the Archive, deputy editor Sean Masterson tells us about the road to launch: 🔗 commodoreformatarchive.com/the-sean-mas...

- Transfer deadline day.
- 📍 Monmouth Street, Bath, England.
- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64My original (obviously!) collection of #CommodoreFormat mags from the early 90s. Issues 1 through 20, I am curiously missing issues 21, 22 and 23, then I have 24 through 33. Where the prittle jar of doom dada dun day are those three? 👀 Bizarre Inc. indeed. #C64 magazine treasure!
- From over on X
- It’s all very authentic, at least 😄
- Definitely one of his more unusual fights.
- 18 months later Hulk was back - the first character to appear on a CF cover more than once (the only other one’s Mayhem!).
- It’s coincidentally 30 years since Escom purchased the rights to make C64s and Amigas, although not the Commodore brand itself. Escom itself went under a year later: commodoreformatarchive.com/issue-review...
- This looks very nice indeed.
- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64Exile had a physics engine years before Half-Life 2. Fire, water, wind, gravity - you weren’t just fighting the enemies
- July ‘91: Exile on the cover, awarded CF’s second highest ever score in a surprise Gary Penn review. Park Patrol on the tape: commodoreformatarchive.com/issue-review...

- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64This is a great resource for all things Commodore Format, and I have just done my donation for this year to help with the site fees in order to keep the site active. The editor is one of the good guys too, and have been fortunate enough to have some articles published there.
- Our archive of hundreds of interviews, features and scans is the result of over a decade’s work. It costs about £100 in total a year to keep what I hope you think is a wonderful and unique resource online. If you can spare a few quid it genuinely helps: commodoreformatarchive.com/donate-and-k...

- Looks really nice, this.
- Psygnosis games people play Tome one is now available👇 www.editions64k.fr/psygnosis More than 400 pages about the first part of #psygnosis history.
- “There’ll never be Sonic for C64”, the mags told disappointed letter writers in 1991. Pah! A mere 30 year wait sure put egg on their faces, eh?
- Snow joke.
- 🔥 Clever coding, cinematic presentation and outstanding game design makes C64 exclusive Turbocharge one of the most thrilling 8-bit experiences. 🗓️ 1991, System 3, tape and disk
- Been quietly working on something a bit weird and low fi and dreamy on TikTok. C64 fans will enjoy it. I’d love to have you there ❤️ www.tiktok.com/@widowofbiel...
- Low fi, strange, dreamy C64 horror on my personal Tiktok! Link in first post of this thread. Something new every day.
- What #C64 games are there in which the main sprite will look at the “camera”, wave or otherwise communicate with the player? Thinking like Little Computer People style.

- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64My low fi, weird, dreamy, retro games TikTok isn’t getting much exposure in the UK ‘cos I don’t live there and the algorithm needs some strong signal from Blighty. If you can give me a follow or any engagement at all it does help me to hit an audience that cares ❤️ www.tiktok.com/@widowofbiel...
- Hey folks, this is me. If you need words I can do them for you. I promise they don’t read like a toaster having a stroke. Blog posts from as little as $20.

- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64“How bad should I make the logo, boss?” “If it’s even symmetrical I won’t pay.”
- Reposted by Commodore Format Archive | Commodore 64I worked on a few N64 FIFA games. Naming your team BuryFC (my team) in one of them gave you a developer’s team with maxed stats. And I’m one of the players. It’s so long ago I don’t even remember which FIFA version it was.
- What’s an unusual or funny cheat mode you remember? On Monty Python’s Flying Circus, you can get infinite lives by entering ANNE CHARLESTON. on the high score table (remember the space and full stop!)
- On CJ’s Elephant Antics, type HAIRYARSEHOLES on the title screen for infinite lives. That one was a troll of games magazines to see if they’d print it (CF did. Just backwards, and told you to reverse it 💀)
- This looks like it’ll be a belter. Best of luck, Andrew.
- So the Kickstarter launched sooner than expected, back it now to read about more than a hundred of the best C64 games ever: www.kickstarter.com/projects/zza...
