- Finally, some progress with the BHF64. My repair efforts are mostly based on beard scratching a pulling chips, but I usually get them going again...
- Five and a bit years ago, I built a load of Nano SwinSIDs, thinking this was as good as a DIY SID chip replacement was likely to get.

- PCBWay no longer accept PayPal. You now have the choice of a hefty bank transfer fee or extra hoops to jump through just to make a card payment. 🤷♂️
- Is there some way I can use AI to block any video where someone does that wagging finger thing? ☝️
- There seem to be a lot of people getting fed of waiting for their C64 Ultimate, and cancelling their orders and doing a lot of complaining. Meanwhile, the Spectrum Next crowd are like "Hey, take your time guys. Delivery in one year, three years or potentially not at all. It's all good." 😆

- The advent of the Commodore 64 Ultimate brought around 40,000 empty SID sockets into the world. Demand for the original chips has gone through the roof, as have prices. Sorry everyone.
- Here's an Ocean Software curiosity. I have two copies of the Dixons Six Shooter freebie, and the instructions are different. One only covers five games! Terra Cresta and Mikie are replaced by Double Take, which was never on this compilation. The reverse side, tapes, and inlays are identical.

- AI fail of the day.
- I know I said I wouldn't go on about it, but seeing my own artwork all over an article in the Guardian online this week was a nice surprise. At a time when my future career is looking a tad uncertain, it's interesting to think about what happens next.

- Had a lot of fun servicing this 1541 drive. Sent to me as not reading disks, soon sorted but wouldn't write anything. Faulty sensor, bypassed for testing but the owner wants to keep it as a read-only drive. Okay then! Someone had gone mad with white lithium grease also, it had gone everywhere.
- PSA: the small and mighty SIDKick Pico works perfectly with the Commodore 64 Ultimate, before you go spending three figures on an original SID chip in case the on-board UltiSID doesn't float your boat.
- Playing with the new SIDKick Pico firmware and getting slightly obsessed with 6581 filter curves, and the work of Antti S. Lankila. His web site has been offline for a while, but the Wayback Machine saves the day: web.archive.org/web/20220916...
- Oh yeah, I used this stuff to get the exact profile for the posts that turn the tape spindles in this cassette mechanism when 3D-modelling it. I probably should get out more.
- I'm only calling them this from now on.
