- I needed a new ereader, especially since we ditched Amazon a long time ago, and holy hell the Kobo Libra Color is so nice. Even my manga and comics look sharp on it. Last night it pinged me to say an ebook I had on hold at the library was available, and asking if I wanted to download it.
- And look, I love physical books too, but you will miss out on SO MANY amazing indie or self-published books and stories if you stick to "physical only" out of a misplaced sense of superiority because they won't BE released physically. You can have both physical and digital. It's okay.
- It can't be Pokémon's 30th anniversary this month because I remember when the first games came out and that wasn't that long ago right? Right?? I got Pokémon Blue for my Gameboy for Christmas that year. I chose it because that was the one that came with Meowth. 😌
- When Crystal came out I remember being shocked that the Pokémon "moved" during combat. As in, they had a whole two frame animation when they were deployed.

- My take on the producer disc horse is there will always be bad producers, as there are poor examples of any discipline, and producers and teams are not always fits for one another. A producer is not a magic fix, and one's presence cannot magically ship a game if people are not aligned on how.

- Hardware getting more complex is annoying because it's like "oooohhh your PS5 died it needs a new disc drive for several hundred dollars :(" and meanwhile I'm still riding the high of fixing my old PSOne with a piece of makeup sponge several years ago
- Likewise replacing the battery in my old Pokémon Emerald cartridge. It's just so satisfying. You don't get that same feeling from "needs more thermal paste".

- I will still always always remember the time one of the games I produced had 100% positive ratings on Steam, people loving and raving about it, a multi-video Markiplier series about it, and someone left a negative review admitting the game was great but "no game deserves 100% positive". Still mad.
- I have zero issue with people leaving negative Steam reviews with legitimate criticisms or dislikes. I cannot stand people who will smugly tank a game's performance and rating just to be contrary or get a little award for it from the community for being "funny"

Part of it is Steam's upvoting system being busted. Part is human nature being stupid.

- This is good advice for game dev, but I would amend this with "genuine." Some of the worst people I have met in this industry are "kind", but only when it serves or can shield them. Be genuine. Be open to criticism and feedback even when its hard to hear. Be kind, but be real and true about it.

- I have Google's AI bullshit disabled in workspace but now they've started adding the buttons to all the interfaces. It even shows up on files themselves when viewing documents. It's just trying to get me to turn the feature on - it's still disabled - but holy hell does Google not understand consent.

It's also much more mechanically/narratively coherent than Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator because you're not being encouraged to rush everything. Reading it all and processing the (silly) words is fundamental to success.
