- Reposted by Katharine Fortin(First) afterthought on the cancelling of our protest #WOinActie. The reason the protest got cancelled was because of alleged threats by a pro-palestinian group that wanted to "hijack" the demonstration and was ready to use violence. >
- Reposted by Katharine Fortin‘Winter is approaching, temperatures are going to drop, and manufactured tents are a luxury in #Gaza right now. Families are sheltering under curtains or other fabric, which is not going to protect them from cold rain, snow, freezing temperatures, let alone bombs and artillery.’
- Reposted by Katharine FortinFor those interested in #InternationalCourts and stuff going on in #TheHague, this event will be relevant. - Reposted by Katharine FortinI wrote an op-ed in one of the main Dutch newspapers today, highlighting that the 1 billion budget cuts to Higher eduction can only be explained as a way to make our universities more submissive. - Prepared my placard for the protest on Thursday against the crippling academic cuts planned by our new Dutch government that believes "woke" academics clearly have too much time on their hands. Suggestions for catchy slogans gratefully received!
- This was a great conversation with two scholars whose work i have long admired bridging disciplines and digging really deep into important issues relating to civilian protection

- Reposted by Katharine FortinA gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting. Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.
