- Reposted by Heini VäisänenWhat should we do as editors when a reviewer has clearly used AI to write their peer review? In my opinion, this is academic misconduct. But it's almost impossible to prove. Should we just ignore the review? Should we report it to their employer? Should we have a blacklist of suspect reviewers?
- Saw my first AI-generated #Review today, of a paper in Scientific Reports. It was like a highschool teacher giving constructive feedback on an essay, with statements from a rubric. If i see this as editor, your 'review' will be ignored. If i see it as 1st/last author, I'll write to the editor. 🤷♂️

- Reposted by Heini VäisänenThe AI and social science publishing problem is SO MUCH bigger than this. The peer review system is close to broken, nobody has time to edit or review properly, and LLM-polished or -generated work that looks good in form but is weak in its fundaments ia flooding submissions. It"s not sustainable.
- Interesting discussion between @jburnmurdoch.ft.com and & @sarahoconnorft.ft.com on what developments in AI like Claude Code might mean for social science, including the risk it will lead to an increase in low quality work www.ft.com/content/9183...
- Reposted by Heini VäisänenI only want to read articles where an author takes responsibility for every sentence. Please don't disrespect my limited time by presenting me with sentences produced by an LLM that are not full of the meaning that YOU want to say. I want to connect with an author and trust their integrity.
