- they originally rebalanced the MVs so that a more 4U style playstyle was incentivized (draw slash into strong charge into circle was just as powerful as TCS while affording you faster recovery and more favorable followups) but they buffed TCS to be god again lol
- it's genuinely tragic that they have an absolutely incredible roster wasted on a terrible structure and weapon design philosophy
- well, incredible roster* *when they're arch-tempered and sped up massively with larger hitboxes
- finally uninstalled MH Wilds

View full threadthe heart of monster hunter imo is learning a monster's behaviors and the specific spatial interactions that their attacks have, and then learning to secure better and better punishes with a more secure understanding of where you can stand and how you can move
- focus mode (and the increasing focus on parries, low-chip counterattacks, perfect guards, and perfect dodges) diminishes this aspect massively as your positioning matters much less both on a "hitting the part you want to hit" and a "getting a punish at all" level

- no like focus mode literally will suck you closer to ensure that attacks which would normally whiff will land instead, which means that the whole spacing and location based punish conceit is cooked youtu.be/Y-o0vPnvjkc
- Like they don’t try to hide their wounds or do some extra aggressive attack if you start aiming at them in focus mode or anything
- focus mode giving you aggressive magnetism that lets you stick to the monster like glue is insanely limiting not only for what they can do to counter it but also just for monster hunter's gameplay as a concept, shit is just Fundamentally Cooked

- The Minnesota Public Radio report has lots of choice quotes, but I'm ordering a transcript because other stuff that was said at the hearing will be wild for attorneys to read. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
- like what the actual fuck this is a courtroom and she's talking like she's a minimum wage employee who's trying to talk her manager into getting her pto lol
