- Government: *doomposts about how no one's having kids* Me: Fine, I'll have ONE kid Government: *continues doomposting about couples these days choosing to have only one kid instead of more* Me: 🙄

- The abject sadness of spending a day cleaning up every speck of dust in your kitchen only to see food scraps reemerge within hours of completing the task
- I actually feel a lot better now after my husband (who is an editor, but not on the book I'm working on) sat down with my draft today and told me every little thing I did wrong. LOL.
- Um, tbh, I haven't been that satisfied with my translation work so far. I send off my manuscript into the ether and never hear back about it ever. Then I read the final book and hate the sentences I wrote.
- A weird feeling to see my name in a print book. Everything I've ever written/translated up to this point was digital/online-only.
- When I was younger, I never bothered listening to reviews because I was like "The only person who can decide whether I enjoy something is ME" Now I'm older and see the point of maximising my limited free time...even if I am still the ultimate judge of whether I'm having fun...
- Spent this weekend catching up on Frieren (fell behind when the mage exam arc started). It's no longer the show it was at the start but I won't complain about the fun action!
- Right now I'm busy judging stuff for the JNC contest, so my LN backlog is growing. Here's the stuff I wanna read when I finally have time!
- Finished J-Novel Club's release of Chivalry of a Failed Knight, volume 1 It's been too long since I read the Sol Press translation, so I can't compare (not much point now, anyway). But I enjoyed experiencing the story again. The horny parts are just as intense as the battles!
- Every time I watch an idol anime, I feel like a basic shonen anime fan cos my weeb power levels aren't high enough to fully appreciate the vibe 🤥

- Every girl who was an overachiever in high school needs to watch Skip and Loafer to feel seen, heard, and wanted

- Ooooooh! The Japanese fanartists are now on Bluesky in full force! Nice!
- Continued my SAO Alicization re-read (volumes 12-14). This is where the arc ends right? There's no war or shit afterwards. Kirito, Eugeo, and Alice defeat Administrator, and they all live happily ever after.........right??
- This discourse makes me feel like a kid discovering the harshness of the adult world for the first time My country forbids the death penalty and I always grew up instinctively thinking, "I wouldn't personally wish death upon even the worst criminal" Now I feel like a weirdo 💀
- Think I'll use Bluesky like the Twitter Circles of yore Posting semi-personal stuff that X/Twitter is too un-normal to handle
- Nicest thing my husband has ever said for my ego is "You're hotter than the girl from My Dress-Up Darling" I know he just doesn't like the gyaru aesthetic and finds that kind of character design basic, but I'll take the win. LOL.
- Made a blog post on why Maomao is a detective character for the ages. Step aside, Edogawa Conan! frogkun.com/2024/01/16/a...
- Caught up with the Apothecary Diaries EN release! Honestly one of the best-written LNs out there and a joy to read in translation. The pacing in these later volumes really slows down, but you mostly read the series for the endearing character moments and light mysteries

- Congrats to Lihaku's muscles on their debut appearance in the Apothecary Diaries second OP
- Being a source material reader, the first episode of Sasaki and Peeps was about as dry as I expected it to be. But visually showing how much of a simp Sasaki is for his bird + cute animal videos does a lot to make him endearing.
- Apothecary Diaries volume 8: This volume was a lot of fun until Jinshi did something trash at the end like usual lol. I liked the MeToo-esque story involving triplets where one of them sexually harassed a girl but no one can figure out which one did it.
- When the Delicious in Dungeon manga started going viral, it was novel for having a fantasy foodie theme. Even today, it still stands head and shoulders above the pack. Marcille being a tsundere for monster food is essential to the charm!

- Ishura is one of those rare cases where the anime tells the story significantly better than the light novel. The story is easier to follow, the action and exposition flow nicely, they made Yuno gay-er, and most importantly the fights are REALLY FRICKEN COOL

- Local anime character finally says what we're all thinking about THAT trope
- Someone sent me a long and passionate message on Discord saying I should continue Sasaki and Peeps, so here I am with volume 2. 20% in and it's already better than volume 1 😅
- First completed light novel of the new year! Sasaki and Peeps, volume 1. This has a lot of different ingredients in the pot: Isekai, psychics, magical girls, 12-year-old girl who wants to be banged by an almost 40-year-old dude (yeah........)
- 2023 was a wild year for my personal life. Started the year with cancer and ended it in a much better place (no more cancer and other nice things happened to me). Looking forward to 2024!
- Finished reading Agent of the Four Seasons. I thought I would like it more than I did. The prose was very overwrought (then again, so was Violet Evergarden) and the first volume was just entirely character setup with one lame cliffhanger at the end. Banger illustrations though

- If you found yourself wondering, "Why has Frog-kun been praising that trashy pig isekai anime? No way is it actually good." I HAVE THE ANSWERS!!! Read the in-depth justifications here: frogkun.com/2023/12/17/t...
- OH YEAH. If you're sick of isekai where the MC passively accepts slavery, READ BUTAREBA because vol 2 onwards is literally about the MC and his friends trying to revolutionise the world because a society predicated on oppression doesn't deserve to stand
