- “The EU will consider all the tools at its disposal in order to hold accountable those responsible for sustaining armed conflict […] in the DRC.” Well, if words could solve issues, we'd not be reading yet another statement, would we? 😏 #Goma #M23 #DRC t.co/wJCfMyzyks
- New @amnesty research: The Rwanda-backed M23 and the Congolese army must stop firing rockets, mortars and other explosives with wide area effects into populated areas. They must take all feasible precautions to avoid or minimize civilian harm during attacks. www.amnesty.org/en/latest/ne...
- @amnesty on #TikTok ban: “Instead of imposing arbitrary bans, US authorities should introduce regulations that govern all tech platforms to protect everyone's human rights.” US’s “sell to us or we ban you” undermines freedoms without addressing real issues t.co/t2zaQxZYKF
- #Tiktok, like US-based social media giants, must stop collecting and using people’s sensitive information to create an addictive timeline. The response to abusive algorithms is a human rights-oriented regulation, not switching ownership or punitive bans. t.co/mb9cjGAt1A
- Zimbabwe is poised to abolish the death penalty, making it the 25th African nation to take this significant step, according to data from Amnesty International. In stark contrast, my country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, is moving backward on this issue. 1/2 abcnews.go.com/amp/Internat...

- Over the last 40 days, three African nations — Namibia, Botswana, Ghana — have successively held elections hailed as largely open, transparent & peaceful. In 🇧🇼 & 🇬🇭 ruling parties have conceded defeat to the opposition. All have embarked on a peaceful handover of power. 1/3 amp.dw.com/en/ghana-rul...
- Unfortunately, there has also been the case of Mozambique where the disputed elections held at the end of October have plunged the country into widespread violence, with the region failing to stand with the people and find a peaceful path forward. www.aa.com.tr/en/africa/mo...
