- ...and yes, these were taken on the NBP (RV/IB Nathanial B. Palmer)...the ship that the U.S. is in the process of decommissioning as a part of its Antarctic research program, leaving them with no dedicated ships in the region...a MASSIVE loss to science.🧪🌎🦑🇦🇶🐧
