- I am happy to share this new preprint with @tianyongyao.bsky.social and Chenning Xu on "Pattern Formation in Agent-Based and PDE Models for Evolutionary Games with Payoff-Driven Motion". arxiv.org/abs/2509.20538

- This was a really fun project that arose as part of a term-time undergraduate project in the Illinois Mathematics Lab (iml.math.illinois.edu). The two co-first authors are Tianyong Yao (@tianyongyao.bsky.social), a senior at @umich.edu, and Chenning Xu, a junior at @caltech.edu.
- This project was largely inspired by the approach taken by Durrett and Levin in "The Importance of Being Discrete (and Spatial)", and particularly their comparisons of interacting particle models and reaction-diffusion equations in studying spatial games. sites.math.duke.edu/~rtd/reprint...
