I was lucky to have seen it at the Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC (I was sixteen) and even in its 70mm glory it was still an ungodly mess. And yes, De Niro’s Jimmy was a total asshole and that meet cute scene with him and Francine was an utter disaster.
