- My 1st US public transit: 2.5 mi (4 km) bus ride from Tri-City Park to the Brea Mall in ~2003. Route said bus every 15 minutes. Took over 100 minutes. Bus driver told me the last bus going back that day would be by in 30 min. It's a .5 mi (.8 km) walk through the parking lot to reach the mall.
- Crazy how states exist compared to when they were admitted. In 1878 "sufficient population" for statehood was 1.2% of the nation's total population, or roughly 40% of the population of a highly populated state. These days only about 30 states qualify for admission. And PRico more than 21.
