- The Lemkin Institute is calling out the Nazification of the US government. Those who would rather keep raising alarms about threats from other parts of the world, are either part of the fascist agenda or deep in propaganda. 1/2 www.lemkininstitute.com/statements-n...
- The US is currently ran by White supremacists and they are an existential threat to most of the planet. 2/2
- I honestly hope that all those US citizens appalled by what the US is doing in its territory, get as appalled and angry when the US does/promote that abroad. Because THE US HAS BEEN DOING THAT FOR OVER 100 YEARS.
- The current fascist regime in the USA is pushing the country towards a civil war. Unless the other side starts reacting, they will end up with more and more casualties from a paramilitary force that has been granted absolute immunity. 1/2
- Furthermore, at a certain point, we have to recognize that the safest thing for the world would be for the USA to be too busy engaging in a civil war and too weakened to directly threaten Latin America, Canada, and Europe, or indirectly promoting chaos or harming the rest of the planet. 2/2
- Gave an interview to Redeye about the state of the international legal order and how we can make sense of it. Despite the atrocities and problems we can attribute to the system that gave us the UN, there was a set of rules in place that is no longer in place. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/g...

- European states are catching up fast to the fact that the US is operating under a new set of rules that have little to no connection to those of the post-WWII order. Canada and other countries would be wise to act in the same way. The UN-based legal order is gone. www.newsweek.com/greenland-ge...

- I wrote this piece for @ca.theconversation.com. Legal and political theorists should start recognizing that the post WW2 legal order is no more. Thus, we should theorize and act accordingly. #InternationalLaw #RulesBasedOrder #US-Venezuela #Gaza theconversation.com/venezuela-at...
- Trump is bragging about the re-emergence of the Monroe Doctrine under his regime. Yes, the foreign postition that claims that Latin America is under US control and they can decide how to run or if/when to colonize. And of course, he claims the US will run Venezuela for the foreseeable future.
- If you didn't get an academic position because you were white, I feel sorry for you for being deranged enough to believe that that is the real reason you didn't get a job. So, in summary, if you think you were denied an academic job for "being white," all I can say to you is LOL.
- I know regular US citizens and soldiers are specially good at self-deceptio. They are experts in pretending they are the good guys of history and that every genocide, invasion, and atrocity they commit (constantly), is for a good reason. 1/7
- But, if the US does invade Venezuela, I do wonder what kind of justification they would find to apease their minds when creating what could easily be the worst refugee crisis in the continent, and the possible massive loss of lives. 2/7
- This, I assume, will be particularly hard to justify when their sitting president has literally said that its because Venezuela has stolen "land and oil" from the US. Which is an insanely weird and nonsensical claim. 3/7

- Dear all, I am happy to share this CFA opportunity for a PhD-level student interested in working with me on the SSHRC-funded Indigenous Stories of Philosophy project. Please spread the word far and wide. #FundedPhD #Philosophy #Academia #IndigenousPhilosophy
- Guillermo del Toro's #Frankenstein was amazing. What a good movie.
- Remember that she is grieving the death of a man who pushed for the Iraq War, which caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in the Middle East and many US soldiers. All for the sake of profit. While using fake data and playing along with all the US media.
- Some people saying, "Palestine has never existed. " Meanwhile, David Hume "Yeah, I will write an entire Chapter of the history of England in connection with the State of Palestine." If people want to call David Hume a 'woke' Enlightenment author for this, that would be a fun turn of events.
- Just in case anybody wonders, I was not taken to the sky by any entity today. #WorstRaptureEver #IWasPromisedIWouldFly #TakeMeToEatInstead
- Grow a spine and stop whitewashing the legacy of a White supremacist. Unless, of course, you think White supremacy discourse and politics are your thing. In this case, keep going. Is always good to see who people are.
- Just to be clear, if someone promotes a white supremacist agenda and the incarceration of minorities, with the domination of women attached to this, that is not only a political position. It is an existential threat for BILLIONS, and as such, it is a good reason to "finish" any kind of relationship.
- I think that having concentration camps and a legal system that supports racial profiling and mass incarceration of minorities is political violence to begin with. Also, that those who promote or support those things are promoting political violence already. 1/3
- So to be sad and apologetic for a racist millionaire dying but not for the other kind of violence seems convenient if you are secretly or quietly in favour of those genocidal policies to begin with. So, nah. 2/3
- I reserve my empathy for those 3 and 4-year-olds who are separated from their families and are now waiting in concentration camps around the US. 3/3
- When the Prime Minister and the military heads of Israel said they were going to commit a genocide, some people said "its not their real intention" or "they don't really mean it." 1/3
- After the genocide has happened, what would those claiming Israel would never commit a genocide could say to those who died? That they couldn't know? That the videos recorded by the IDF soldiers commiting war crimes were not real? 2/3
- The heads of Israel literally said what their goal was and then, they went for it. To claim ignorance is infurating. 3/3
- Dear all, we are extending the deadline for the WCPA Call for Papers. The new deadline is August 15, 2025. Please send your papers, and thanks for all the interest. With already a large number of submissions, this is going to be a great conference! #philosophy #conference #UniversistyOfAlberta
- This is an open letter I helped draft, where we ask the @apaphilosophy.bsky.social to do the bare minimum and condemn the genocide and mass starvation in Palestine. Just as they have done with other conflicts, taking a stand in favour of humanity is the bare minimum they should do. 1/3
- I have heard from colleagues that they think it's better to be strategic and not upset the Western governments that fund universities during these times. Calling out the genocide, although correct, could jeopardize their funding and risk more government intervention, they say. 2/3
- No matter what you do, you will not appease a fascist regime. You will still lose the funding, and you will still lose the "academic status" that you cherish so deeply. At least do not lose your dignity and take a stand against the Palestinian genocide. 3/3
- Why are some academics still shy about condemning the Palestinian genocide? Your humanities department will eventually lose most or all of its funding due to the rise of fascism, no matter how quiet or submissive you act. Grow a fucking spine and say something while you have a platform. #academia
