My sweet beagle Betty died today. She’s been in my family for about 12 yrs and she was about 3 yrs old when we got her. She was well loved, even by those who usually don’t like dogs. I’m happy she’s no longer in pain but I miss her terribly. I hope she’s getting lots of treats in the dog afterlife.
Sorry to hear, my beagle Marker moved on last June after 12+ years with me, he was also about 3 when I got him. Our little hounds are free from the pain of this world but missed by so many.
Jan 14, 2026 08:20That sums it up. Betty had cancer and even on meds she was hurting. It wasn’t going to get better from here. So I’m glad she’s no longer in pain. But selfishly, I wish she were still alive. My heart is heavy.
