- Thrilled to see my research published in @anchistjournal.bsky.social! 'Enslaved women were not only violent in their interactions with Southern overseers through avenues of assault, homicide, and attempted murder, they were also armed.' You can read it here: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

- If you want to hear more about the relationship between the burgeoning US pharmaceutical sector of the nineteenth century and enslaved women’s poisoning practices, please sign up for my talk next week at the IHR! www.history.ac.uk/events/dange...
- This paper discusses the imaginative ways enslaved women obtained and used manufactured pharmaceuticals for their own resistive endeavours. In tracing these violent themes, this study showcases enslaved women's knowledge of the scientific and commercial medical culture of the antebellum south.
- An interesting study highlighting how modern gender standards influence our understanding of history. I'm reminded of Rebecca Hall's important work on how historical thought exists within an 'echo chamber' which perpetuates gendered understandings on the roles of women in the past.
- Serious work event - the annual RAI Bake Off. Fierce competition and delicious bakes. @raioxford.bsky.social (Special shout out to my own 'Yee-Haw Cupcakes')
