- 💡Huge project partner milestone! @openarchive.bsky.social and @hypha.coop just shipped a privacy-first, decentralized storage backend for the Save mobile app. Communities can now preserve and verify mobile media without relying on centralized platforms. www.open-archive.org/news/oa-hyph...
- Reposted by Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web🚨Publication alert! Learn about the first decentralized, p2p mobile backend we built w/ @hypha.coop in our white paper. Why? 🌍Distributed Storage. 🤝Community-Run: by us, for us. 🧱Redundancy, by design. 🫶🏼More autonomy & integrity. 🙏w/ the support of @ffdweb.org www.open-archive.org/news/oa-hyph...

- Our world runs on maps. As dependence on location data grows, so does the need for resilient, verifiable infrastructure. The Decentralized Geospatial Collaborative is building open source tools that make geospatial data easier to store, share, and trust.
- The team focuses on peer-to-peer data management, proof of location, and verifiable geo-computation, and has shipped a Web3 Geospatial Dashboard that blends STAC metadata with IPFS and @Filecoin for multi-path retrieval.
- Preserving digital cultural heritage is urgent. Operational cuts, natural disasters, and technical disruptions put collections at risk.
- With support from Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, the Digital Public Library of America ( @dpla.bsky.social ) ran a pilot to store selected partner content on the Filecoin network, building resilience and keeping communities in control of their data.

- Reposted by Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized WebThis is the reason why I took interest in blockchain at all. I have been hugely disappointed by the crypto sphere, but I still that some of this tech can be used for a better web. Some saw in mid 2010s that big data was a massive threat to democracy, and they have been proven right by now.
