- Reposted by donaithnenThe public made noise for Liam Ramos and it got him released from Dilley. Now we must make noise for 7 year old Diana Crespo. Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles. Get them out!
- Reposted by donaithnenworth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead
- "My country right or wrong." We all bear responsibility for what our communities do, large or small. But if you want to avoid blame when your community chooses something awful, you need to oppose it loudly and honestly. (No wishy-washy "I don't like it but there's nothing I can do.")

- Reposted by donaithnenIt’s frankly insulting that the worlds worst people weren’t meeting in a command center in a volcano wearing ceremonial robes but were all emailing on Hotmail accounts like “want 2 atrosity? With wemen?”

- Reposted by donaithnenDon’t forget the kids who weren’t lucky enough to have a cute photo go viral to get people outraged on their behalf. They ALL must be released.
- Reposted by donaithnenA bystander took a heart-wrenching picture of Liam Ramos in his hat and Spiderman backpack, and there was pressure, and he and his father are free. We must not forget all the prisoners still in the camps whose names and faces are known only to their loved ones. We must make miracles for them, too.
- Liam Conejo Ramos is on an airplane on his way home to Minnesota. How wonderful. kstp.com/kstp-news/to...

- A 1.5 hour video is a long ask for some people. But the first hour is very informative, and (spoilers i guess?) the top three comments when i watched it have some great things to say about the last 30 minutes.

- Ep 4 of Starfleet Academy was predictable (Avalyn and i took turns shouting the solution at the screen) but it was told well, and we enjoyed it. It continues the trend of the newest episode being our favorite. (A trend that can't last, but it's nice while it does.) #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy
- Reposted by donaithnenThe VERY MEAN AND NASTY Jesus Christ flipped over a bunch of tables in the temple and assaulted our fine money changers with a whip! HE WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS. Jesus is a well-known leftist who has NO RESPECT for the businesses that make our houses of worship great!

- Reposted by donaithnenHere’s what I think we should do with the concentration camps. Ready? Let every detainee out. Give all of them citizenship and reparations with no strings attached. Dismantle the facilities brick by brick. Never open another one ever again.

- After looking through a lot of listings and doing some research, the best options i've found so far are the brands "Made By Dentists" and "SuperMouth". One has a weird(er) name and the other has weird packaging, but they both seem to be legitimate, so i'll go for the more professional packaging.
- Okay Amazon, Walgreens has failed me so i guess you're reluctantly getting my business Show me "hydroxyapatite toothpaste with fluoride" ... Tell me Amazon search algorithm, why do 90%+ of the results prominently say "fluoride free"? And why isn't that one of the 20-30 things you can filter on?
- It seems a little unfair that we're not supposed to call the Senate & House Leaders unless we're in their district, but they get to make blanket statements about all of us. (Not that i think people like Schumer or Jeffries are likely to respond to requests or criticism from the proles, but still!)
- ...i'm suddenly struck by how much Alex Pretti resembled a wholesome Gordon Freeman, except fighting ICE with a camera to save America in reality instead of fighting (actual) aliens with a crowbar in fiction.
- Cool cool cool, about one in four times i try to visit this @polygon.com article this page pops open about 10 seconds after i open it. No idea if it's a legitimate warning about a security threat or if it's the security threat itself. Not gonna click around to find out.

- My $30 a month pay as you go T-Mobile plan with a limit of 100 minutes of talk-time a month worked great for most of the past 15 years. It works less well when i have to call my Congress people every damn week. Might have to look into US Mobile or Mint Mobile or something like that?
- Reposted by donaithnenAfter the Boston Massacre, the soldiers responsible were arrested and received fair trials. King George recalled the regiment to England, and then American leaders were like “good, that was enough, we’ll remain your loyal subjects forever…” wait, that’s not right…
- Reposted by donaithnenI genuinely think this is both necessary *and* perfectly achievable, and I think anyone who claims it isn’t should not be taken seriously and certainly not elected to any public office

- Also, Avalyn caught Adventure Cat and Fluffy Kitten sitting together on the guest bed this morning. Not cuddling, but at least hanging out together. Not everything in the world is terrible! (Fuck ICE)
- *takes a deep breath to try and calm down* Hey look! It's cats! Four out of five cats agree that the couch is the safest place to be while the humans are running around cleaning the place! (Cuddle Cat was on her heating pad and didn't want to move until the vacuum got close.)

The same MAGA bootlickers who claim we need unlimited guns to "prevent government tyranny" are the first ones to scream "OH MY GOD HE HAD A GUN" when tyrannical govt kills someone
- Starfleet Academy had the corollary this week: (Spoilers for an out of context two line quote) "Man, why does everything have to be a full-on lesson in this place?" "Because it's a school, Caleb."

- Reposted by donaithnenThe TACO cycle: Markets want to price in TACO. But TACO only works if Trump sees stocks tank. So we get a loop: Trump does things → nothing happens (markets already priced in TACO) → that emboldens him to do more → until markets start to think he might not TACO → stocks fall → TACO is restored.

- Reposted by donaithnenThe point here is to believe people when they tell you who they are. Gavin Newsom hangs out with Republicans because he likes hanging out with Republicans. This isn't 4-D chess. He wants to hang out with Ben Shapiro and Steve Bannon. When he says he agrees with them on things, it's because he does.
- *sigh* Looks like the review bombs are in, because that is _not_ any kind of usual distribution. Especially given that there are only 2 episodes out to base an opinion on so far. #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy
