- We don't deserve Esquie. ☀️
- Iron Lung is a 6/10 movie hiding inside a 4/10 movie
- Horizon Forbidden West was a good time. Though i got pretty burned out after the 30 hour mark and started speeding through side quests without caring. Now on to E33.
- Reposted by Dante🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional! ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.
- It's so telling when people at c-level and otherwise say, "Coding agents are better than me!" And from my experience, they're on par with a junior engineer unless you have a ton of prompting or strict direction and rules. Especially in terms of understanding a codebase and trying to operate in it.

- Saw a production of Waiting for Godot for the first time, and gosh dang that was fun (yes, it was Bill & Ted's Excellent Existential Moment). I want to see at least one more to get a sense of interpretations, but I at least have a few of my own.
- I feel like @dropout.tv is asking the question, "but what if daytime tv were only nerdy comedians and improvers?" And I'm very here for that.
- My goal is to write codebases and design systems that do not punish good deeds. Tales of taking down prod after fixing bugs.
- Let's just pin minimum wage to the repay rate of a 30y mortgage on median home and call it a day
- Lorelei and the Laser Eyes was pretty solid. I felt the ending fell on its face in terms of puzzle quality (lot of frustrating leaps / ending cutscene felt like a time waste instead of a reward), but that doesn't ruin the ~15 hours of a good puzzling before it. 7/10.
- this is supposed to be fucking phi?! Are you kidding me??!
- It's really depressing that LLMs are literally already a murderbot and they currently are mostly used as chatbots.
- GiantGrantGames dropped a 4+hr longform on the Command and Conquer series the same week @defunctland.bsky.social dropped a 4+hr longform on Disney and I can't be happier for the holidays. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EwZ... and www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyIg... respectively. Check them out!
- I'd happily use a new search engine if it not only had 0 AI features, but went out of its way to not even index AI written sources. There's a huge market there IMHO.
- Eat your shrektables www.youtube.com/watch?v=79Y6...
- A friend made a really good point -- for every uhhhh, unalive instance of AI chat -- how many downward spirals must there be...?
- Jeeze. openai.com/index/better... is a harbinger of the end times, idnt'it?
- I've got 2 ideas I'm trying to turn into punchy phrases. Thoughts? In the age prior to free mediocrity, what does creativity look like? Taking fuzzy input, matching it against a huge corpus of knowledge, and producing similar output is the best application of transformers.
