- Taylor’s team: we’re gonna need a shopping mall that looks like it was last relevant in 1991. Plus, we’re going to be filming for about six hours but we don’t want to make any businesses close for that long Whitgift Centre: you’re not going to believe this
- Reposted by andrew allenFrom @acyn.bsky.social (posted on X) "Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal? Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail… Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you. Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."

- In the last 12 hours or so, Mark Ruffalo posted a thing saying ‘*this* will be the thing that forces him to resign his presidency’ and the fact that I can say ‘no not that .. no not that either, no not even that’ about the last TWELVE HOURS OF JUST THIS LAST DAY tells you all you need
- If you work or have ever worked in any organisation and that organisation had a *private* group chat or email thread, and someone posted a image like that one, that person would be leaving the building accompanied by security within the hour.
- Two *other* things about The Muppet Show: The technical skill of Miss Piggy gliding out of her dressing room, slamming Chef into the wall, and stomping down the stairs. (1/2)
- Reposted by andrew allen“The combined tuition fees of the entire Question Time panel would not cover my cost for 1 year of uni. Is that fair?” Oli Dugmore It’s absolutely NOT fair. This outrageous scandal must end
- Reposted by andrew allenChild at the podium: “A woo woo woo.” Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.
- Grey day today; perfect for reading thru the submissions for the next @cast_iron_btn short play night.
- I can’t read music, so a friend gave me a score sheet, which is totally blank. Perfect, no notes
- The important thing for SNL UK (or more, its audience / critics) to remember is that as much as 40% - more - of its sketches aren’t gonna fully land, just like the last 50 years of the US version. And that’s more than OK. I just hope we give it a chance, even if we don’t find every second hilarious
- This morning hosting the Writers’ Space at Hove Library for @ironcladcreativecic and now reading the approximately 300 (!) submissions for the next @cast_iron_btn short play night. Hope to have made the selection by Sunday. How’s it going for you?
- Weird that in the past, we were promised a future filled with shiny devices that showed the way to an even better future and now we’re here and have those shiny devices we use them to mainly point the way to an increasingly fictitious past
- In a snapshot of my media consumption at the moment my current ear worm is the theme of Schitts Creek which then morphs into the opening of Army Dreamers by Kate Bush. And yes I know they don’t actually sound all that similar
- Actually I always wanted to write a sequel to Blake’s 7 called Blake’s Nation but literally anybody I told didn’t think it as witty a title as I did

- A thought about playwrights directing their own plays (in alt text)
- Just saw Zadie Smith describe fictional women written by men as ‘400 page drag performances’ (she’s not necessarily mad about it) and it’s such a neat, clarifying take. ‘Fiction is strange .. perverse. There’s no defence for it, it’s irresponsible. Fiction is fundamentally irresponsible’

- I went to college with other 20 year olds. Some of them I’ve not seen for thirty years, and while I myself am older, I can’t quite comprehend that they’ll be in their fifties.
- Not a particularly exciting or glittery video, but I’m trying to force myself to do more direct to camera things. You know, for the socials.

- Coming up with a particularly clever or witty password is so defeating because by definition you can’t show it off to anyone
- Reposted by andrew allenI wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free
- Get ‘I’M BUILT THAT WAY’ on a million tee shirts by the time you’ve read this sentence
- I’d booked to attend an in person workshop on overcoming impostor syndrome. I forgot to go. There’s a lesson or something in here somewhere
- It wasn’t a dream, but last night as I drifted off to sleep I was struck - out of nowhere - by the absolute certainty that within 5 years there’ll be a major stage production of Stand By Me.

- The Traitors: Opinion in alt text
- The Traitors. Well. I was hoping for a (admittedly unlikely) twist there, but that was absolutely the only way it could’ve / should’ve ended. Very well deserved by those at the end.

- Current research (with a coffee, natch) for my upcoming online course starting next month, WRITE THE PLAY!

- Tonight’s Traitors: now are we absolutely clear that tonight’s banishment will be the very last time a departing player will reveal if they’re a traitor or a faithful? Have we said it enough? No? OK, one more time -
