Maybe it will be liberating,” @jamesrisen.bsky.social advises the AP. “If (you) have guts and nerve you find other ways to cover people.” The Washington press corps has become too accostomed to being stenographers.

- Now, is the press going to continue the false narrative that Trump and Republicans are good for the economy?
- The press consistently failed to point out that wages were growing faster than prices during much of Biden's presidency. growhttps://www.statista.com/statistics/1351276/wage-growth-vs-inflation-us/th since January 2023.
- Under Biden, U.S. oil production reached an all time high. The U.S. produced more crude oil than any country ever. You will have to ask political pundits how they think this fits in with what they claim was Biden's "woke" agenda. www.eia.gov/todayinenerg...
- Trump only won the popular vote by 49.8% to 48.3%. If political pundits want to say that he won a landslide because of terrible economic and social conditions under Biden, that's a complete lie.
- Here's the truth: the nation did very well while Biden was president. By 2024, violent crime declined to pre-pandemic levels, inflation declined to about 2.5%, and migrant crossings of the Mexican border were down 80 percent. Unemployment was only about 4%, GDP was up 2.8%.
- In a nutshell, here's what the political press is saying now: Why don't Democrats become more racist like the Republicans?
- Political reporters are now blaming Democrats for everything. That allows the political press to absolve themselves for only covering the horse race and not the threat that Trump posed.
- Here's what Trump's tariffs really are: A massive tax on middle class American consumers. Trump will use the government revenues generated from the tariffs to pay for tax cuts for the rich. The tariffs will severely damage the U.S. economy, but Trump doesn't care. He wants to punish America.
- To all of the political reporters who focused on horse race coverage in 2024 and ignored the threat that Trump posed: You share the guilt for this.

- The media keeps saying there is no "Resistance." But there never has been. It's a myth. There are always just individual people who have to make difficult, lonely decisions about how to defend democracy. Those are the people who stand up and fight. Not the people waiting to be led.
