Seems like there's an implicit premise in the Mary The Color Scientist thought experiment that all physical information can be conveyed in human language and I don't really see why a person would believe that
Abolish ICE.
There’s no reforming it.
There’s no compromise.
There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.
Mother Earth, despite approvingly talking about eugenics a good bit, does not ever use either the word "dysgenic" or refer to Galton by name
Here's an interesting bit where one C. L. James argues that charity is dysgenic, especially compulsory charity, but that cooperation is not, *because cooperation is ultimately a form of trade.* Not the sort of thing you'd expect from a socialist magazine!
Some folks seem to be under the impression (I certainly was) that Emma Goldman was on the socialist end of the individualist-socialist anarchist spectrum. But she was basically a libertarian. Mother Earth published some arguments you'd expect to hear from Ayn Rand:

More good stuff from Lydia Davis:
I've taken a slight break from my usual reading to read some fiction. Lydia Davis. I like her writing a lot but it's quite difficult, a lot more difficult than I would expect given it's brevity
I’m so glad you went. I had many people ask me - “is it safe? Should I leave my phone and ID at home? Do I need an exit strategy?”
We’re building this bizarre and paranoid civic culture based almost entirely on miasmatic online fear endlessly feeding itself. Selma marchers didn’t even mask!
"I'm coming to Boston and I'm bringing hell with me."
--Homan in February
"Do I expect violence to escalate? Absolutely."
-- Tom Homan in March
"I actually thought about getting up and throwing that man a beating right there in the middle of the room"
-- Homan in July, referring to a D congressman
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

This is confirming a take I'm settling on that although eugenicists are quite bad, they are not that important

Noam Chomsky was born a month before Martin Luther King Jr.
I went and Facebook and was met with a long post from a conservative sibling about how he was wrong and fascism is a serious problem in America. A conservative aunt is reposting Indivisible content. My family is not a representative sample of the country but this gives me some hope anyway
Thank God there were people filming. This administration would have said Alex Pretti pulled a handgun, a package of fentanyl, and a signed copy of the Communist Manifesto if they could.
Issues with this one have been popping up. Still maybe my favorite history of eugenics I've read so far? But she's gotten a bit stuck on some anti-liberal memes that she doesn't back up well enough
The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

This is what the front page of every newspaper should look like for the next 3 years
Inside of you there are two wolves: one is a citation minimalist who refuses to cite anything except direct quotes from historical figures, the other is a citation maximalist who wants to add twelve citations to every paragraph to prove to any readers that you are very smart and well-read
Some 20th century sexologists thought femme lesbians didn't count as lesbians
pepper spraying someone in the face from inches away while they are already restrained on the ground should get you fired and land you in jail, no exceptions
