Today's pangram on NYT's Spelling Bee is very much NOT a word. I can accept it hyphenated but as a single word, absolutely not.
One of the angriest outbursts I can remember as a trainee journalist was an old school lecturer working himself up into a state of high dudgeon about the increased use of hyphens and using very frank language that it would all end in people writing "fairy-tale".
Not to say that you're not right about whatever word it was, just that I don't often get a chance to air my only half-decent hyphen anecdote.
I do agree there has been an over use of hyphens of late but this single word situation was not OK! (I will tell you the word if you like and you can judge for yourself but don't want to spoil it for puzzle fans!)
Tell me!

When you're right, you're right. Not a word. Swizzle.
