The Annual London Graduate Conference in the History of Political Thought 'States and Spaces' - 19-20 June at LSE.

- The CfP for this year's London Graduate Conference in the History of Political Thought is now live! The theme is 'Vice, Corruption, and Decay', and it will be held at UCL on 11-12th June 2026. Abstracts due 1 March. All graduate students welcome!

- Day 1 concludes with a brilliant keynote from Dr Faridah Zaman (Oxford)on 'Muslim Excess: Political Thought Between States, Empires, and the Global’ @faridahzaman.bsky.social
- Our final panel of the day considered empire and enlightenment. We heard from Oksana Volovodiuk (CEU) on instituting the Grand Duchy of Warsaw in Napoleonic Europe and from Cameron Bowman (Oxford), on how British depictions of African Kingship attempted to justify slavery from 1670-1740.
- We've moved to the post-liberal and the far right for our next panel of the day. Excellent papers from Mintae Hwang (Bristol), Dane Thomas (Berkeley) and Thomas Maidment (Cambridge) on post-liberal American ideas, the French new right and the English rural revivalists.
- Our next panel is architecture and the state with papers from Thomas Griffiths (KCL), Bene Colenbrander (EUI) and Eli Frankel (Chicago).
- Our first panel of the day covering Laski, Schmitt and Rousseau with Thomas Graul (Yale) and Luyao Li (Peking/Cambridge)
