  • I can't say this to the person I want to say it to, so I'm saying it here: there's a lot of work to do, so you should do the work that calls to you, and not worry too much about whether it's the most important/strategic/whatever thing you could possibly do right this second.

  • It's a side effect, but I'm seeing printing whistles act as a useful on-ramp for a lot of folks who are pretty new to engaging in political activity other than voting and yelling at the news.
    • I think people often wonder this, and it's a great question, so let me explain the advantages of 3D printing whistles. There are many. The 3D printing effort started from one of our organizers who started by sourcing mass-produced whistles.

  • The nice thing about volunteering at @unbreaking.org is that we have each other when one timeline entry describes an event that is so convoluted and unhinged and stupid-sounding that it takes several of us to rewrite it into something that might make sense to a person who isn't marinated in news.

  • No one told me this until Wednesday, so I'm telling everyone. Remember how you powered through finals week or whatever and then promptly got sick? A similar thing may happen when you try to take a break after prolonged exposure to disturbing material, e.g. the US news.
