- I try not be negative, but I've started to do more simple maintenance by myself (11 yr old car). I picked up a cabin air filter because who knows last time it was replaced. If it takes an average 45 MIN to replace this filter, I fear we may be sunk as a species 😬😂 (1st time, took me about 10 min).
- Technology is fascinating because I'm pretty sure my student's mom is in this google doc I'm helping them edit for summer research applications, and that never would have happened 10 years ago. Hi Mom! Your child is doing well! 😂🧪
- I feel like this is a metaphor for something.
- Latest hyperfixation: model kit
- It has a light
- We would be lost without Xenbase! It's an incredible resource🧪🐸💚
- Reposted by Dr. Brittany J. CarrFinally out! We studied the retinas of the longest-living vertebrate, the Greenland shark, and found that the retinas remain remarkably healthy in animals around 150 years old. What is the mechanism? It may be a highly efficient DNA repair system. Enjoy! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- It's been a rough start to 2026, but my office plants somehow survived not being watered since Dec 15, and that's pretty neat. 🌱
- Sliding into work after 3 weeks of (probably) the flu be like

- Reposted by Dr. Brittany J. CarrOur latest paper is out! It's led by my first MSc graduate, Andrew Rideout, who did a terrific job with this project. We report some fun and confusing results about mGluR6 trafficking. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
- Final sketch. Happy Holidays everyone!
- I bought an ink adventer calendar and to justify it, I've been doing a sketch a day with the new inks. Here are a couple of my favorites. #ArtAdventCalendar #SciArt #Sketch

- Frog eye, frog eye. Can I have a confocal microscope to play on for 12 hrs a day again please? 👉👈🥺 🐸
- Trying to find some protocols for cone isolation from frogs that don't involve transgenics or freezing. There is a surprising dearth of information out there for cone isolation? Seems to be mostly rods. Is anyone familiar with any simple-ish protocols? 🧪 👀 #xenopus
