Saturday ended the conference with unforgettable moments at the Awards Banquet, celebrating achievement and community. Additionally, Sunday’s Atlanta Westside and 1906 Race Massacre Tour was the perfect finale.

Friday had it all, from the Author’s Book Signing to the Boots on the Ground Reception. We captured moments with the Divine 9 and connected through panels, workshops, and sessions. It was a day of inspiration, reflection, and community, the kind only ASALH creates.
Day 2 brought us into the heart of the conference. Rooms buzzed with panels, presentations, and conversations carrying Carter G. Woodson’s vision forward. We learned from one another and felt the power of collective scholarship in every space. Thursday reminded us why this gathering matters.
We miss our ASALH family already. It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since our last family reunion… we mean Annual Conference 🙌🏾 . Day 1 opened with registration and the Welcome Happy Hour, setting the stage for days of connection, scholarship, and celebration.

✊🏾 Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Opal Lee, known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” helped make it a federal holiday in 2021, honoring Black freedom and resilience.
