Husband/Dad/Podcaster (General Witchfinders & Dark Darzet), co-founder of Bu Hong beer, and RNLI team member. Anything stupid I say reflects my own stupidity, not that of the people I work for or with. Lover of spooky stuff and funny, clever, kind people.
- Listening to the Midsommar soundtrack, such a fantastic score. Must watch it again soon.
- I’m helping organize a night of stand-up comedy on April 30th at the King Charles pub on Poole Quay! It’s all in aid of the Poole Lifeboat Station, so please come along if you’re in the area. Tickets are available here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/right-ship...

- Here are my favorite films that I watched for the first time and remembered to review in 2025, with '28 Years Later' being the standout 5-star winner.
- There was much merriment made about me spilling beer on my ‘felt’ desk cover in the recent @generalwitch.bsky.social podcast - I thought I’d use that as an excuse to share my desk set up which I’m very pleased with after a bit of a tidy up over Xmas
- Really enjoying this collection of short ghost stories I got for Christmas- I’m about halfway through and this one by Chris Adrian is the stand out so far - can’t stop thinking about it
- I think Eve of the Daleks might be my new favourite festive special
- Always fun to revisit old books with John. Go check it out

- Anyone remember those Livewire Chillers from school, the little horror books for kids who weren’t big readers? I’m selling a few on eBay if you’re interested. ebay.us/m/NrTiKH
- Every so often Vinted throws in a wild card among the usual shirts and T-shirts it serves me, as if to test the algorithmic waters. ‘Fancy some Nazis?’
- Will be going on Stranger Things social media lock down from tomorrow
- My dyslexia keeps making me think that people posting about COP30 is something about C3P0. Keep getting worried about Antony Daniels
- With my #DarkDarzet hat on (or rather T-shirt) I was invited to do a talk about the history of Morris Dancing. Not knowing anything on the subject didn’t stop me doing it. Here’s a recording of the night, our new podcast episode: Morris Dancing Talk LIVE. pod.link/1640220316/e...
- Realised I’ve never seen a Bollywood film. Any suggestions on something a notice would enjoy? Are there Bollywood horror films?
- Drew this today
- Just sorted out my bedside book pile . Big shout out to ‘Tongues’ by Anders Nilsen- one of the must impressive graphic novels I’ve read in ages
- Just got back from a 3d cinema screening of Paranorman with the family - love that film

- Look at the fantastic wedding anniversary gifts I get from my magical wife xxx
- Frankenstein was fantastic. Will go down with Bram Stokers Dracula as a classic modern adaptation. Some truly iconic visuals. Just ended too quickly for me.

- Really enjoying introducing my kids to Sherlock. Not seen it since it first aired. As with most things, I prefer watching without the hype or heavy expectations - most shows can never live up to rampant theorising and analysis. Martin Freeman’s acting is astounding. Such a star.

- Please consider buying our new zine (I spent bloody ages on it)
- We’re getting worse at staying on topic, but I think the podcast’s all the better for it. Search for the new episode wherever you get your podcasts – just look for ‘Dark Darzet’
- The zombie frogs
- Got a weekend where no projects are overdue. All the podcasts are edited, the zine’s at the printers, and there are no events in the calendar. I’ve got nothing I need to read or watch for anyone.

- After a long hiatus, Dark Darzet have dropped a new podcast episode. Join Ross, David, and Henry at Old Harry Rocks to hear tales of pirates, the devil, and shipwrecks. bit.ly/3WdILOi
- About #BigChrisLee
- Fantastic that charity shops are putting their spooky books in the window at this time of the year. But not good for my bank balance @generalwitch.bsky.social

- Just finished rewatching The Good Place - introducing it to my kids. It’s one of my all time favourites. Feel sick from crying so much. Masterpiece

- I’m organising 'Rock the Boat' a RNLI fundraiser at the King Charles, Poole, Thurs 9 Oct. About 100 people expected & raffle tickets sold beyond the room. I’m looking for raffle prizes! If you can donate one (or know someone who can) DM me www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rock-the-b...
- Highly recommend this weird little book.
- Disgusted with the morons in London today. I really can’t see any of this getting better.
