- Reposted by ajua dukerUnreal. The US government is dumping Asian and African families and children in random countries that they have no connection to. Dumping, not "deporting." Deportation implies the return of a person to their home country. This is treating people like toxic waste. www.cbsnews.com/news/us-depo...
- Reposted by ajua dukerDEI is a corporate term, CRT is a legal framework, Black Lives Matter was a political slogan, Staying woke was a colloquialism. It’s not individual terms at fault here, people aren’t being confused into racism.
- Reposted by ajua dukerThe kind of racism Trump & his ilk espouse is old-fashioned, even as it’s dressed up in modern DEI discourse. They get close to saying it outright but haven’t yet—but make no mistake, they sincerely believe white people are biologically & intellectually superior to nonwhite people.

- Reposted by ajua dukerA lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

- Reposted by ajua dukerExcited to finally share this paper, nearly 5 years in the making! - Reposted by ajua dukerEzra Klein is basically right here. Gen Z is reacting to the only Israel they’ve ever known, and it’s a Bibi-led Israel that makes no bones about its anti-democratic and anti-Palestinian commitments. That, more than anything, is driving the shift in generational attitudes.

- Reposted by ajua dukerMLK is a great example of why just following polls and doing whatever is popular at the time isn't always a good idea. I Have a Dream was 1963. The Civil Rights Act was 1964. By 1966, King's net approval was -30, with 44% highly unfavorable. Over time, large majorities realized he was right.

- Reposted by ajua dukerI have not seen posts from Harvard faculty weighing in on Claudine Gay so for what it is worth, here is one faculty opinion. I have been a professor here since 1986. She was, by far, the very best dean of Arts and Sciences we have ever had. She was fair, collaborative and yet decisive. 1/n

- Congrats to Jenn Richeson (@jaricheson.bsky.social) for earning APA's Distinguished Scientific Contributions award. Scholars like Dr. Richeson keep social problems such as racism & inequality at the forefront of the intellectual and public discourse. Give her a follow on Bluesky! #PsychSciSky
- Reposted by ajua dukerBeyond any “smart” sociological critique of Gay’s resignation, this has all made me sad and disheartened. As a Black political scientist who knows how few Claudine Gays there are, this has been hard to take in. And it’s sad—and admittedly a bit frightening—to know that any one of us could be next.

- Excited that our paper, led by @rrrianabrown.bsky.social & Pia Dietze, is out! We find that racial health disparities violate concerns of moral sacredness moreso than economic disparities, which sparks a sense of injustice and support for action. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
