- Far fewer films watched this week as flu has had me laid on the sofa re-watching season 2 of The X-Files, but the weekend’s watches were aces. Hard recommend for the Adams Family’s latest: Mother Of Flies (2026). Super makes me want to visit the Catskills. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- Pre-owned, vintage, weird books are, by far, the best books. Two out of three even have photo pages! #booksky
- Highlight of the last four was Billy The Kid Vs Dracula (1966). Make of that what you will 🤷♀️ #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- Off down the John Keel ultraterrestrial rabbit warren I go! 🛸 👽 👻🧜🧚🎅🏻 🕵️♀️ #LightWeekendReading
- I Start Counting (1970) was simply stunning. All the best and the worst of people and places of the late-60s/early 70s colliding in an atmosphere I’ve only experienced in Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975). #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- Honestly, pretty pleased (appalled? 🤣) with my 2025 and the first and last watched sum up the overall watching vibes perfectly. #LetterboxdWrapped #BigChrisLee
- 380 horror watches in 2025. Even for me, that is a f**k ton of horror entering my brain. Utter first-time watch highlights: - Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975) - MadS (2024) - Monolith (2022) - Something In The Dirt (2022) - The Humans (2021) - Sinners (2025) - The Vanishing (1988) boxd.it/BYXUG
- Happy-place week rewatching some of the best of my favourite movies. Lovely colour scheme too, I must say. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday
- A massively pleasant surprise courtesy of Dracula (2025). It honoured what came before, brought something new, had a great cast, and had plenty of wit to go with it. I’ve either been living under a rock or it just had no marketing at all. So odd. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- Last night I achieved(?) 365 horror films this year completely unintentionally. It’s fitting that no. 365 was the high strangeness found footage Horror In The High Desert 4: Majesty (2025). boxd.it/Sw9w

- Row (2025) is a very decent, horror-adjacent, mystery thriller. The poster makes it look “shitty horror”. It’s anything but. Hard recommend tbh. An American Haunting (2005) was just characters screeching with a soundtrack of noise… #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- A pretty “mid” week. Not bad, but definitely not great. Highlight was an unexpected love arc featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and David Copperfield (yes, that David Cooperfield) in Terror Train (1980). 🤷♀️ #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- As I continue Saw-athon re-watch. I’ve really realised that this franchise is one hell of a commitment to a singular storyline, like it or love it. I promise I didn’t watch out of order, simply forgot to log IV (2007) on the day. Doh! #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- Been thinking about Udo Kier a lot today and his omnipresence throughout my lifelong love of horror. In Mark Of The Devil (1970), I was so astounded by his beauty that I dubbed him ‘Handsome Udo’; henceforth his forever name. Sound on for Handsome Udo theme tune! youtu.be/HBiW78l_1QY?...
- Many of these are ones I tell anyone who’ll listen to watch. They are also responsible for people taking the piss out of my horror hobby. When I’m less sensitive about that, I reminds myself that we all mock hobbies we don’t understand. Then I go back to reiterating that The Coffee Table is superb.
- After a re-watch of House Of 1000 Corpses (2003) at the weekend, I went off on a Rob Zombie theme (ignore The Mummy (2017)). Watching a House Of triple back to back gave me a massive appreciation for 3 From Hell (2019) that I didn’t have when I first watched it. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- This week has been horror films of my youth. Honestly, most held up to the enjoyment levels I remember. Saw (2004) remains pretty damn brilliant. The screaming at the end still chilled me to my bones. But I take it personally that it’s over 20 years old… #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- My 300th horror film of the year and 200th classic film of the year was the resplendent The Masquerade Of The Red Death (1964). Delighted to give this honour to the equally glorious Vincent Price. 2025 horror list: boxd.it/BYXUG 2025 classics list: boxd.it/BYYmK #filmsky #horrorsky
- Currently winning at life because someone made a “your mum” joke at my child and her friends jumped into defend me. Apparently I’m “too awesome” for anyone to take the piss out of.

- Winner of the week: the Arrow release of The City Of The Dead (1960) - free to view on YouTube. Stellar Amicus-adjacent work from Milton Subotsky with nuanced use repetition to enhance the tale. The image of Barlow holding the giant cross aloft was haunting af. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday
- Halloween means spooky marathons, so working my way through rewatches of Fear Street and Hell House LLC. Tonight is Fear Street: 1666 (2021), Hell House LLC: Origins (2023), and Hell House LLC: Lineage (2025). Happy Halloween spooky chums! #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

- The Collector (1965), utterly brilliant. So close to perfection. So, so close. The Mothman Prophecies (2002) and, in particular, Gothika (2003), not as good as I remember. Twenty years sure does change taste. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday
