- It’s weird after being a Chiefs fan for more than 50 years & enduring decades of terrible teams & tough playoff losses, they’re such a focus of derision even hate. Sometimes made it hard to enjoy the success. But I’m grateful for this amazing run. Guess it’s like being a Patriots fan 20 years ago.

- During @ronsexsmith.bsky.social wonderful show last night, he invited Melanie Doane on stage with her ukulele. They started playing “Sunny” when Ron suddenly suggested “we need some kids.” About 150 scampered down the aisles, ukuleles in hand & joined in. A tonic at the end of a hard week.
- Since the end of the game, an awful lot of folks are saying the Chiefs and Bills will see each other again. In case they haven’t noticed, Denver is 7-1, LA is 6-3 & KC is 5-4. If we want to see Buffalo in the playoffs, Pat & the boys have to get busy winning or get busy dying.

- The CC is a nuisance in an already crowded schedule. Yeah another loss sucks but it’s 5 fewer games they’ll have to play.The doomsayers will go ballistic after another loss but they’re missing the bigger picture IMO. The Reds are in a battle for the top four & CL. That’s where the focus should be.
- Conflicted about today’s match. A loss would create even more panic but a win would stop the bleeding a bit & keep hopes of a trophy (yeah even the Carabao Cup) alive. Plus another loss to Palace after the community shield & that last minute PL game might turn the Eagles into the Reds bogeyman. 🤷🏼♂️
- Chemistry in sports is a special formula. Liverpool had it last year but not now. There’s been a death in the family. A host of departures. New personalities with new talent but young & unfamiliar with the city, the league & each other. This project is long term. Patience.
- If Liverpool wanted to make Mo Salah disappear, they couldn’t do much better than moving him inside and putting Bradley on his spot. The King was almost invisible in the first half.
- 5 goals, big performances from Ekitike and Wirtz. Just the kind of game to lift the gloom enveloping Liverpool these days. The Reds aren’t dead yet. The challenge for Slot is to build on it and make the hard calls on the lineup. #YNWA

- I’ve been proudly part of a Jewish family for more than 40 years. My late mother in law called me her adopted Jewish son. Wishing my wife & her extended family (mine too) a good fast on Yom Kippur, this most solemn day in the Jewish calendar. A day of reflection, renewal & hope.
