- Reposted by Flora Coleman❤️🔥Tory sources confirm that Nadhim Zahawi made approaches to senior members of Kemi Badenoch's team about getting a peerage just weeks before defecting to Reform UK - but was turned down.
- Sometimes you read something so gloriously absurd you can't quite believe your eyes: Virtually anything you can think of qualify as “commodity futures contracts,” with three important exceptions: Securities Futures on “motion picture box office receipts” Onion HT @matt-levine.bsky.social
- Marty supreme - while a pretty compelling movie - I just couldn’t bear to finish it. TBH it started badly with the visual representation of conception. Not my cup of tea.

- This is why I never fly the Irish budget airline, delayed flight yet they rack up about 10x £75 hand luggage check fees at the gate by squeezing the measurements 1cm. Priority though mandatory for overhead cabin luggage is pointless.

- What is the point of the Oyster card readers when changing from the overground (windrush!) at either Whitechapel or Canada Water? Does it make a difference where you are coming from/going to?
- I know I’m late to the party, but by golly do I love Severance. It’s even held me up from starting the latest season of Hacks

- Still obsessed with the fact that you can buy digital stamps in Ireland with no printing/collection needed, you just write a little code in the place where the stamp goes: www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels... Come on Royal Mail! HT to @finnmcredmond.bsky.social for this incredible info
- Spurred on by a post here, today I celebrated my baby making it to six months by donating blood. Thankfully due to having useful blood I get badgered quite a bit (ro antibodies are v useful for sickle cell) but hopefully this is your reminder to #giveblood

- Reposted by Flora ColemanWired has been fantastic recently. It’s really interesting that much of the best *political* reporting in the US is coming from tech journalists and tech-savvy reporters. Sort of reminds me of 2008-10 when a lot of the best political news was being broken by finance-savvy reporters.
- Update from WIRED head @katie-drummond.bsky.social. We're hosting a webinar for subscribers w/ our reporters and editors next Thursday, Feb 13 @ 1pm ET.

- Forgive the tmi but too often the reality of (female) life is not shared. I’m facing the reality of caring for my mother (in a wider amazing team!) whilst looking after my nearly five month old and enjoying the horrific deluge of my first post partum period which. It’s a privilege, and a curse.
- Thankfully I’m not working and my husband is doing a great job of holding the fort with the toddler, cat, and dog.
