- 1/5. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to The Dickson Poon School of Law at King's for their invaluable support and to the Economic and Social Research Council for funding a series of side events — both public and off-the-record discussions — leading up to the Berlin Process Summit in London.
- 2/5. These events were designed to be as inclusive and open as possible, with invitations extended to all six leaders of the Western Balkans. Five Prime Ministers responded positively — some were unable to attend at the last minute.
- 3/5. We are especially grateful to the Prime Ministers of Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo for joining us, and to the UK Minister for Europe and other senior governmental officials, members of parliament, the media, academics, students, and others who participated.
