- Shame on the Post-Gazette for exploiting the tragedy in Kerr County to score political points. It’s time for Pittsburgh Water to keep its promise to The Run and ensure that flooding in our neighborhood is fixed once and for all. content.govdelivery.com/accounts/PAP...

- Stellar response from City Council Prez Lavelle to the PPG's call to cut critical violence prevention funds. Gun violence is a scourge on Pgh and this $ has been instrumental in reducing it. TY, Councilman for speaking out...so disappointing that you had to. content.govdelivery.com/accounts/PAP...

- ❤️💚🖤 Gorgeous morning for the Pittsburgh Juneteenth Parade! ❤️💚🖤
- Glad to stand with SEIU Healthcare and my colleagues across state, local, and fed govt to demand that UPMC stop the unlawful delays and agree to a free and fair union election for the nurses at Magee-Womens Hospital.
- Proud to stand with Casa San José, SEIU, USW, Unite Here, Starbucks Workers United and unions around the US to demand the release of SEIU CA prez David Huerta. Make no mistake: ICE is not about safety, it's about terrorizing immigrants. Very glad to see so many Pghers come out to say not our city.

Aiken and Ellsworth is here! 📢 We advocated for this project in the 2022 budget, and thanks to the work of DOMI, this intersection now features: ✅ Ped countdown signals & audible pushbuttons ✅ Leading pedestrian intervals ✅ Updated signage ✅ Dark-skies compliant lighting
- In Pittsburgh, property owners are responsible for their sidewalk, which is tough for lower-income home owners. This is an innovative solution to helping fix critical sidewalk gaps. Glad to see Hazelwood up next. Thank you Pgh DOMI for seeing this important work through. www.wesa.fm/development-...

Today @khanna.house.gov and I unveiled the Abolish Super PACs Act to get money out of politics and restore democracy for, of, and by the people. We must make it harder for billionaires + corporate interests to buy our politics.

- Love it when they say out loud what you knew all along. Hand over your park for our private shuttle road or forget about getting your flooding fixed.

- Thank you, @gaineyformayor.com. What an honor to fight beside you for a kinder, more equitable city. It wasn't our night. But today we get up and keep doing the work to protect and uplift our most vulnerable residents and build a Pittsburgh for all.
- One hour to get to the polls! Let's GO!!! @gaineyformayor.com
- We don’t need a mayor who feels entitled to the job. We need a mayor who has earned it. That Mayor is Ed Gainey. @gaineyformayor.com newpittsburghcourier.com?p=392200

- One of the most compelling takes I've seen on the upcoming Pittsburgh Mayoral election. Shared with permission from a post by the parent of a PPS highschool student.
- “Real housing justice demands that we do both: remove outdated, exclusionary policies and put inclusive ones in their place,” Gainey said. “Inclusionary zoning ensures that affordability is built into every neighborhood, not just a few.” www.wesa.fm/politics-gov...
- Whether it is building new, preserving units, winning LIHTCs, kick-starting our Land Bank, winning $600M for res conversions, or pushing simpler zoning & transit-oriented dev, @gaineyformayor.com has been laser-focused on keeping Pgh affordable for everyone. www.publicsource.org/pittsburgh-m...
- Reposted by Barb WarwickThis is the funniest thing to me: His opponent dared him to go on a walk and show him where he built affordable housing. He’s on that walk, and his opponent is at home tweeting <<no fair you’re just campaigning>>. Like, yeah, what did you think would happen?
- More affordable housing coming our way downtown! www.wesa.fm/development-...
- Corey's continued and baseless claims of corruption to deflect from Mayor Ed Gainey's accomplishments are an insult to our city workers and erode the public's faith government. It's a weird knee-jerk projection mindset that makes me wonder if this isn't the way they would run the city themselves.🧵
- The URA has 5 years of annual reports on its website. The data for the housing tracker was pulled from URA, HACP, and City Planning board/commission meeting minutes, which have project details like exact addresses that wouldn't be in an annual report.
- Links to those archives here, if Corey's team would like to cross check. 🙂 www.ura.org/pages/board-... hacp.org/about/board-... www.pittsburghpa.gov/Business-Dev...
- Lots of frantic posts coming from team Corey after last night's debate trying to disparage Mayor Gainey's incredible work on housing...so I thought I'd provide some clarity. 🧵
- Peduto announced the concept of OwnPGH in March 2021, but never funded it. As a former City Councilmember, Corey O'Connor should know that an unfunded program is not a real program.
- Mayor Gainey funded the program with $15M in ARPA money. Then URA designed and launched it in Jan 2023. Since then, more than 150 low- to moderate-income Pittsburghers - mostly women with kids - have used the program to buy their first home.
- Bottom line: While others talk, Ed Gainey gets it done. Props to Peduto though for coming up with a catchy name... More info and how to apply here: www.ura.org/pages/OwnPGH
- Preserving decaying units is the most cost-effective way to secure affordable housing. Helping landlords make repairs in exchange for keeping a unit affordable allows them to keep renting to lower-income folks long into the future - even as rents in the neighborhood go up. So yeah, it "counts". 🧵
- To be fair, I get Corey’s confusion. You see, his pro-developer friends and donors only care about New Units. In fact, they would rather we focus on exclusively new market-rate housing, because that's how they make money. The problem is, that's been the approach for a decade plus here in Pgh...
- ...pricing long-time Pittsburghers out of the city. As for the numbers, even Corey knows that once construction starts, you can claim it as a win. Just like in he claims Flats on Forward in Squirrel Hill that was Under Construction when he left office but was Completed under Mayor Gainey.

- It would be funny, if it weren't so predictable and gross. Right in line with our opponent's tactics from the very first push poll. Maybe if their candidate had more to show for a lifetime in local govt than two pieces of 10-year-old legislation, they could do better. But I doubt it.
- @coreyoconnorpa.bsky.social Next time do your research. Gainey's legacy - the unit is back online!
- The best thing about Pgh is that it feels safe to let my kids walk/bike/bus on their own. My only fear is them getting hit by a car. Road deaths are preventable with the right leadership. Thank you @gaineyformayor.com for delivering on safer streets for all. www.strongtowns.org/journal/2025...
