DC has random blocks with non-historic asphalt pavers instead of standard asphalt that take weeks instead of hours to replace and are extremely costly. Many residents like the aesthetic at the expense of safety as these pavers break easily and are hostile to bike or scoot on. Boo!

There is nothing I love more than closing gaps in the #bikeDC network. This one is at 14th/Florida heading south "completing" the east end if the Florida Ave NE bike lanes. Some refer to this stretch as the Sussman lanes due to my very specific advocacy here 😎
