- The current government of #Syria is extremely linked to armed groups some of which are on FTO lists including #HTS. The following interactive graph walks you through the structure of it. querytab.com/data/v/4956/...

- In the past 48 hours, at least 717 Syrians, mostly from the Alawite minority have been brutally killed by Syrian government forces. What many feared has now become a reality. #Syria
- The violence began when pro-Assad militants assassinated members of the Syrian security forces, triggering a rapid and deadly escalation.

- The Syrian government’s official media claims that “pro-Assad” groups are sabotaging fiber optic cables, causing regional blackouts. However, these areas were targeted at the same time, in a major security operation by Syrian forces, leading to serious violations against civilians.
- After Assad’s fall, Syrian telecoms like #SyriaTel symbolically changed logos to reflect the revolution. But have things really changed, or are these networks still compromised for surveillance? Let’s unpack this critical issue
- Syria’s telecom infrastructure—both public and private—was a key tool for Assad’s regime to spy on and suppress dissent. Ensuring these systems are free of backdoors is essential to prevent ongoing surveillance.

View full threadReclaiming telecom security isn’t just a technical issue—it’s about protecting Syrians’ freedoms and privacy after decades of abuse. Surveillance must never again be a tool of oppression.

- #SyriaWithoutAssad I can’t believe this. May the souls of every Syrian who lost their lives in this unjust war rest in peace. Let tomorrow bring peace to all of us—without revenge or civil war.
- Syrian opposition forces cut the highway that links #Damascus to the international airport
- We are nearing the end of a regime that has ruled our country with an iron fist for 54 years. This family’s brutal grip on power has led to the deaths of thousands of political opposition figures, caused the deaths of half a million people, and forced millions, including myself, into exile.

- Actually this is so true. The usage of motorcycles have been insane! I mean think about it, how would you target them with a tank?
- I loved this bridge, it was such a nice bridge.
- #HTS ‘s takeover of Aleppo led to a deal with the #YPG, allowing YPG fighters already in the city to cross into the eastern Euphrates. Sadly, #Kurds have faced harsh experiences under Syrian opposition rule, prompting many civilians to make the difficult choice to leave their homes and flee #Aleppo.
- However, Assad has largely resisted these efforts, ignoring Turkey’s overtures. Recently, Russia’s sudden troop withdrawals from certain areas have been interpreted as a form of punitive action. This strategic move might pressure Assad into reconsidering his stance on normalization with Turkey.
- Rumors suggest that the opposition has paused their operations, possibly due to Russia’s maneuvering. If Assad accepts Russia’s terms, normalization with Turkey could become a reality especially with diminished Iranian influence in the equation.
- As always, the situation in Syria remains complex, and Russia’s tactics could evolve further. The question is: Will Assad comply, or will he continue to chart his own course despite Moscow’s pressures, and lose most of his controlled areas?
- The White House statement on Syria www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo...
- Unconfirmed, but reports suggest Assad’s forces have opened fire on protesters in #Daraa today, potentially escalating tensions. Daraa, located ~100 km south of Damascus, remains under Assad’s control largely due to a significant Russian military police presence.
- Whether the situation spirals out of control likely depends more on Russia than Assad.
- You have to love the pro #Hezbollah and #Hamas crowd warning about “Islamists” taking over #Syria. Come on, guys, cut the double standards.
