- Reposted by Dr. Klotter (Bryce Kerlin, MD)So true. US universities are top notch, and magnets for talent that strengthen the US economy, *because* the US made a policy decision to invest in research. What the gov’t really does is run a competition to let university scientists compete for grant funding to do research that helps society.

- NIH has rescinded its scientific integrity policy. Hard to see this as anything other than clearing the way for shoddy research on things like vaccines. Regardless of the rationale, it's bad news for public health. grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...

- Reposted by Dr. Klotter (Bryce Kerlin, MD)The pediatric residents have adopted a quiet rebellion by mentioning vaccine status up front in their presentations (“this is a 2 year old fully/partially/un- vaccinated…) Mentioned it at the end of the week to compliment them, but they denied it was political, just an important part of the history

- @housedemocrats.bsky.social, I think you should pay attention to this. I, too would donate and I imagine others would too. Could be the start of a whole new movement. Also, you need to be where your base is, and that is not the X hellscape.

- Reposted by Dr. Klotter (Bryce Kerlin, MD)The NIH overhead cut doesn't just hurt universities. It's deadly to the US economy. The US is a world leader in tech due to the ecosystem that NIH and NSF propel. It drives innovation for tech transfer, creates a highly-skilled sci/tech workforce, and fosters academic/industry crossfertilization.
- Oh my 😳 What are you going to do about this, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social ? www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...
- @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, Congress should take back the power of the purse (tariffs) that is constitutionally theirs and keep it. STOP abdicating congressional powers to the executive. What this administration is trying to do is the predictable result of that slippery slope.
- @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, our tax dollars paid for all that data and information that the unelected, unconfirmed, unconstitutional DOGE head Musk just deleted. That is THEFT from THE PEOPLE. START by getting rid of him and his fake department.
