- Weder seine Aussage noch seine Unterstreichung sind überraschend: Merz als schützender Patriarch, Frauen, die nur als „Töchter" Subjekte sind, Männer, die nur dann als gefährlich markiert werden wenn sie migrantisch sind, migrantische Irregularität eingeschrieben in die Illusion einer weißen Nation.

- Because I am receiving messages, questioning the trustworthiness of the government/state in this process. That's not the point, because they are not to be trusted anyway. If the Kurdish movement has taught us one thing in the past 40 years, it is that there can't be a trust-relationship with states.

- When Kurds are narrated as “Western allies“ or as defending “Western values“ it undermines how feminist and egalitarian values are deeply engrained in the history and political imaginaries of minoritized societies in the region. They defend their own values, not imported ones..
- I‘ll be on @thetimes.com radio tomorrow morning 8am London time to talk about Rojava and the situation of the Kurds amid HTS takeover of Damascus and Turkish advance into Rojava with SNA;
- Nothing happens in isolation, complicity is always inscribed to crimes against humanity
- The unfolding existential attack on Rojava isn‘t „simply“ a story of territorial loss, it's an attack on a collective archive of resistance, on imaginaries of freedom, on the memory of our beloved we lost on the way, on hopes for a future, hopes for overdue justice and lived practices of democracy.

- Histories of violence are always intertwined, never unfolding in isolation—we need to acknowledge this from a solidaristic position, in the anthropocene, in times of colonial fragmentation of ‘last skies', borderscapes, nationalised emotions, narratives of liberation and revolutionary imaginaries...
- when Afrin was occupied in 2018 by Turkish army and its Islamist proxies, hence violent dispossessions, displacements of Kurdish, Ezidi, Armenian, Assyrian and other local populations, systematic Turkification and Arabisation, we kept saying this was a dangerous colonial blueprint in the making…

- In der Türkei sind bald Kommunalwahlen und wenn ich mir den Wahlkampf anschaue, denke ich immer wieder, was wäre das Land, und unser Glaube an die Demokratie, ohne die kurdische und feministische Mobilisierung, also ohne die longue durée einer emanzipatorischen Politik von unten.
