- Our global study shows #peatlands in both their wet and dry extremes capture greenhouse gases while soil bacterial and archaeal abundances are low. Peatlands with moderate moisture levels globally emit #CO2 and #N2O gases, while #bacteria and #archaea flourish. doi.org/10.1038/s41598-025-92891-z
