- Reposted by Chris DashiellYou’re not crazy. The anti-trans movement is not organic; it was funded by pedophilic billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein who backed a network of conservatives to accuse the same people they were sexually abusing of being the real danger. @madycast.com exposes the truth in our in-depth report.
- The practical lesson here for Republicans is “Don’t say the n-word or talk about apes. Just yell about food stamps, DEI, rap music, or urban crime, and you’ll be OK.”
- Reposted by Chris DashiellThis is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

- Thinking that other people are “replacing” you is a symptom of psychosis requiring medical intervention. The “replacement theory” argues that the voice telling you to kill your neighbors is actually God. Everyone stating belief in this theory needs to be quarantined and heavily medicated.
- What has all the restless seeking, striving, and worrying done for me in the end? I wanted to make myself into someone else, someone better. But all I really need is to “become” consciously what I already am.

- I am no longer young, I grow old, the weather is dangerous; I may perhaps take an ague, then shall I be foiled, if not quite undone. By the faith of a gentleman, it were better to cry less, and drink more.
- Ross Douthat wrote a book called “Believe: Why Everyone Should Be Religious.” He also wrote a column asking “Did Liberal Feminism Ruin the Workplace?” In an upcoming interview he will explain why religious women should not work and instead should focus on their breeding role.

- Molly did laugh when he went out. Threw herself back across the bed, screaming, kicking. With all his belongings on show. O saints above, I’m drenched! O, the women in the front row! O, I never laughed so many!
- Bezos doesn't read newspapers. They don't get delivered to underground lairs.
- "What makes you say this sounds racist?" Oh dude, I grew up around racists. I know what they sound like. Your "Who, me?" bullshit won't work.

- It’s never worthwhile to listen to anything Steve Bannon says. Ever. He’s a vicious blowhard to which the media for some reason still pays attention. Having said that, I must admit being surprised to learn that the eminent intellectual Noam Chomsky enjoyed talking to Bannon. Sharing recipes perhaps?
- There’s an opportunity for someone to start a real newspaper in D.C., since what used to be The Post has become The Dandy Dime Yard Sale Report.

- Reposted by Chris DashiellNo. Commonsense reform is to burn ICE to the waterline and scatter the rubble so that all of us who value a constitutional republic with a Bill of Rights can prevent such a monstrosity from ever being constructed again. And nothing above is hyperbole. God, but you are not a leader for this time.

- There's no common sense reform for the Gestapo, for god's sake. The minority leader and his allies might as well be running Vichy.
- Days and Nights in the Forest (1970) Four young bachelors from Calcutta go on vacation in a forest area west of Bengal. They meet a vacationing family, and shy relationships develop. Satyajit Ray's style is remarkably relaxed and self-assured. I think this is one of his most accomplished works.
- I got to see Henry Fonda on Broadway, in Thornton Wilder's "Our Town," in the main role of the Stage Manager. My mom took me to see that when I was 14. It was 1969. Let me tell you something: he owned that space. He was in charge of that experience. Every word and gesture was captivating.

- As he spake this, he heard the litanies and the mementos of the priests that carried his wife to be buried, upon which he left the good purpose he was in, and was suddenly ravished another way, saying, Lord God! must I again contrist myself? This grieves me.

- Advertisements for a current Republican candidate for Arizona governor boasts that she’s received Troll’s complete and total endorsement, although he also endorsed someone else. I have doubts whether his endorsement will help either candidate, but what do I know, my brain has never been washed.
- There is a direct correspondence between the level of hatred against LGBT and how much of a fucking degenerate one is. For example, the hatred of trans and nonbinary people that was adopted as an electoral strategy in 2024 was launched by child rapists.

- The Dead Don’t Hurt (2023) Viggo Mortensen wrote, directed, & scored this curious little western.
