the lines are from the things on the roof that stick up and are supposed to break up snow sliding off the roof so it doesn’t kill people
I only noticed this on my third trip heaving Costco stuff into the house, if you’d like to ballpark my danger sense and situational awareness
cubic foot of water weighs ~60 pounds, would guess that’s about a cubic foot of snow hanging over the edge per linear foot of porch, maybe a little less? call it 40 pounds a linear foot to be conservative
we discovered one of those on our roof but only because this happened today after we've spent the past few weeks hunting for a mystery leak at the ground level because the basement had a secret pit full of water coming up through the floors

not ideal but better than the alternatives we considered in terms of difficulty and cost to remediate. apparently the solution is to chuck a bunch of sheer pantyhose full of rock salt up there to create little runoff channels. I haven't tested it but my Chicago friends say it works
