Matt Dunlap
Husband. Dad. Lifelong Mainer. Running to bring accountability back to Congress and make life more affordable for working-class Mainers.
- Rooms like this one in South Paris fill up when people feel heard. Working people come first — not billionaires, not special interests, not career politicians chasing their next job. I’ll fight for you in Congress and for an economy that finally puts working families first. #MEPolitics
- Don Lemon was arrested today by federal officers for doing his job: reporting the news. For years, we were lectured about the need to protect the First Amendment. Now, journalists are being arrested by the very people who styled themselves as its fiercest defenders. That hypocrisy is staggering.
- This is a win for all who protested, but I believe ending the “enhanced activities” isn’t enough. All ICE operations in Maine should cease. Kristi Noem must resign or be impeached. Agents who have committed crimes must be independently investigated. No masks. No warrantless searches or arrests.
- FDR was the kind of leader our party needs today—someone who understood that the system was rigged against the working-class by the economic royalists. To paraphrase Roosevelt: the billionaires who rig our economy will hate me in Washington. And I’ll welcome their hatred. Happy birthday FDR.
- I ran Maine’s 2020 election and saw attacks on our democracy firsthand. The FBI raid on Fulton County, Georgia’s elections office should alarm every American. We have to keep pushing back. The 2020 election was settled. Donald Trump lost. #MEPolitics
- Packed house at our office opening This campaign is winning because people keep showing up. It’s not about a career move or a stepping stone — it’s about fighting for working families and building an economy that actually puts them first. #MEPolitics
- My family and I were so deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash at Bangor International Airport. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones affected by this loss. Thank you to the first responders who rushed to scene. Absolutely heartbreaking for our community.
- Good. ICE must be accountable for what they do. No regulation, no oversight—no support. And to be clear, I would have voted no on the House version of the DHS bill for that reason.
- Another American citizen—a nurse—was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis, and the administration is trying to tell us not to believe our own eyes and ears. In Lewiston, we stood with our neighbors and demanded an end to ICE’s lawlessness in Maine and across the country.
- 📺 New video: ICE is acting like lawless foot soldiers for the president. I’m calling for real accountability and for ICE to stay out of Maine. No masks. No camouflage. No warrantless arrests. No detaining U.S. citizens. Share if you agree. #ICE #MEPolitics
- If you use public office to enrich yourself, you should be audited. Congress should be investigating this—but too often, they don’t. That’s why I’m running for Congress. I’m Maine’s State Auditor, and exposing waste, fraud, and corruption is literally my job.
- My staff told me about this trend going on where folks post their 2016 memories and these just popped up on my timeline! I was proud to be a co-chair for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. Even met Ben & Jerry! The fight for working people continues. @yobencohen.bsky.social #mepolitics
- On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we remember Dr. King’s fight for equality and justice for all—a fight that continues today and one we’re all part of. And many who undermine Dr. King’s work will nonetheless invoke his words in bad faith to justify division and inequality. Call them out.
- The corrupt billionaires. The wealthy elites. They run DC with an army of lobbyists. I’m running for Congress to fight for working families in Maine — the ones without paid lobbyists — because our government should answer to us, not the wealthy and powerful. #mepolitics #maine

- ICE is not acting like a law-enforcement agency. It’s Donald Trump’s personal band of masked thugs. They need to stay out of Maine. They’re not here to serve or protect our communities — they’re here to harm them, and we won’t stand for it. #MEPolitics www.bangordailynews.com/2026/01/14/m...
- Kristi Noem should resign as Secretary of Homeland Security — immediately. If she won’t resign, Congress should impeach and remove her. ICE is operating without basic accountability, ignoring constitutional norms, and putting communities at risk.

- Lewiston! I’ll be hosting a Town Hall to answer your questions, and talk about how I’ll fight for working families in Congress. 📍 Lewiston Public Library, Callahan Hall 200 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, ME 04240 🕡 6:30 PM Start Time (Doors open at 6:00pm) www.mobilize.us/dunlapforcon... #mepolitics
- As Maine’s State Auditor, it’s my job to make sure taxpayer dollars work for the people — not the powerful. Donald Trump, his family, and his allies are draining our country with blatant self-dealing. In Congress, I’ll make sure they get the audit of a lifetime.
- We’ve been here before. Change Maduro to Saddam Hussein. Change Venezuela to Iraq. The result was a forever war for oil while families at home fell further behind. Enough. We want affordable housing, not another intervention built on lies.
- It is always about oil.
- History has shown us the cost of foreign strikes based on misleading claims. Doing it again in our own backyard is reckless and unacceptable. #mepolitics
- Yesterday, more than 20 million Americans saw their healthcare premiums skyrocket — an average increase of 114%. Tens of thousands of Mainers are now starting the year with another crushing cost spike. Congress and Donald Trump own this. Demand they extend healthcare subsidies.
- Happy New Year! This campaign is powered by people who believe Maine can do better—and together, we’re proving it. We wish everyone peace, good health, and a strong start to the year ahead. #mepolitics
- What's the best way to make sure healthcare is truly a human right for every American? Medicare for All. #mepolitics
- As someone who spent two decades in the kitchen as a commercial cook and was a proud union member, I know what it takes to work hard and fight for fair treatment. I stand with unions, support the PRO Act, and will keep fighting so every worker has a voice on the job. #mepolitics
- Life didn’t get more expensive by accident. Paul LePage and politicians like him cut healthcare and reward wealthy donors. I’m running to fight for working Mainers — not billionaires. #mepolitics
- Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas. I’m grateful for the kindness, support, and conversations I’ve had with folks across Maine — and excited for what we’ll continue to build together in the year ahead.
- Here's my response to Trump's endorsement of Paul LePage last night. In short: I handled Trump and I'll handle Paul too.
- Donald Trump just endorsed my opponent, Paul LePage. Well, guess what — I beat Donald Trump as Secretary of State, and I’ll do the same to Paul LePage in November. I guess Florida men always stick together. #mepolitics
- I’ve taken on powerful interests before — and won. I sued Donald Trump and shut down his sham voter fraud commission. I’ll fight the powerful again in Congress so working families have a voice they can trust.
- Trust us Paul - you should stay in Florida. Stay in Ormond Beach. Just stay gone. Maine's working families will thank you for it
- Thank you to everyone who came out over the past few days. From a town hall in Augusta to a house party in Presque Isle, we’re proud to be taking our message of fighting for working families to every corner of ME-02. Your energy and support mean everything.
- Wishing all who celebrate a joyful first night of Hanukkah. May the lights of the menorah bring warmth, hope, and peace into your home tonight and throughout the season.
- The Supreme Court ripped away a 50-year constitutional right. When I'm in Congress, I’ll vote to codify Roe, protect access to reproductive healthcare, and make sure Maine families never lose control over their own bodies and futures.
- In Washington, every powerful industry has an army of lobbyists—Big Pharma, Wall Street, Big Ag, defense companies. Working families? They don’t get an army. They get left behind. I’m running for Congress to fight for the people who don’t have lobbyists walking the halls for them.
- Yesterday we launched Women for Dunlap. Our agenda? Reproductive healthcare and freedom, bringing back the Child Tax Credit, universal childcare, and equal pay. Together, we’ll send Paul LePage back to Florida where he belongs — permanently this time.
- Working families need all the help they can get. That’s where the expanded Child Tax Credit came in. But Congress let it lapse — pushing countless children and working families back into poverty. When I’m in Congress, I’ll fight to restore it and make it permanent.
- Huge turnout in Bangor last night. It’s clear people are ready for a campaign focused on working families and real solutions. Thank you for the support and the momentum — let’s keep it going.
- Augusta! I’ll be in town on December 11 at 6:30 PM at the Buker Community Center for a Town Hall. Come join me, ask questions, and hear how I plan to fight for working families in Congress. Can’t wait to see you there! www.mobilize.us/dunlapforcon...
- I’ve fought to protect our democracy before. As Secretary of State, I took on Trump — and won. In Congress, I’ll continue the fight, because too many won’t hold this president in check like I did.
- Working Mainers deserve a Congressperson who fights for them — not billionaires or special interests. I wrote about why I’m running, what I’ve learned serving this state, and the future we can build together. Read my op-ed in the Bangor Daily News: www.bangordailynews.com/2025/12/01/o...
- Caving on the shutdown without extending the ACA tax credits was the wrong move. Small-business owners deserve fairness — not massive premium hikes. I’m running for Congress to protect these credits and lower costs for Maine families.
- For too long, our economy has put billionaires first and working families last. I’m running for Congress to change that. I’ll fight for working-class Mainers every single day. #mepolitics
- Doing my best to get this turkey right for the family — the toughest crowd I’ll face all year! Hope everyone gets good food, good company, and a little rest today. Happy Thanksgiving!
- Happy Thanksgiving! Grateful for Maine’s strong communities — neighbors looking out for one another, families doing their best, and the people who keep our state going. Wishing everyone a moment of rest and connection today.
- DC pundits who haven’t stepped foot in Maine should read this. They might actually learn something about our campaign. www.bangordailynews.com/2025/11/25/o...
- Long before I was in public service, I worked every job I could get — bartender, cook, dishwasher, even a fur trapper. I’m running for Congress to fight for working-class Mainers every day. Everyone deserves good jobs, affordable healthcare, and better opportunities.
- When he was governor, Paul LePage gutted working-class Mainers and then flew off to his luxury Florida beach home. Maine is done with politicians who put billionaires before working families. Paul — do Mainers a favor: go home to Florida for good.
